From punches that can destroy entire mountains to special Jutsus that turn them into living weapons, Naruto’s Kunoichi has many different weapons that have helped them succeed. Below, we will talk about some women who have proven themselves as fearsome adversaries, even for the best-trained ninjas.

Spoiler Warning: Beware of major plot spoilers for Naruto!

10Hinata Hyuga

As the heiress of one of Konoha’s most powerful and influential clans, Hinata was trained since childhood to become a strong Kunoichi. A few years later, Hinata had already mastered the Gentle Fist Style of her family, using it proficiently in combat.

While she was indeed a powerful warrior, her meek and passive nature meant that she would much rather prefer a more pacific resolution. Nonetheless, when she needed to, Hinata would risk it all for those whom she cared about. Sadly, she was miles behindpowerhouses like Pain, who utterly defeated her during their brief encounter.

9Kushina Uzumaki

Earlier in her life, Kushina and her parent traveled from Uzushiogakure, their homeland, to the Hidden Leaf in search of a new life. As faith would have it, this small decision prevents her from dying in the massacre of her clan. A few years after the incident, she was selected as the new Jinchuriki ofthe Nine-Tailed Fox.

All these factors, added with her already powerful physic, massive Chakra Reserves, and impressive amounts of life force, turned Kushina into a terrifying opponent. She quickly became famous as the Hot Red Habanero of Konoha, due to her superhuman strength and hot temper. Unfortunately, we saw next to nothing about her time as a ninja, robbing us of the chance of seeing her during her prime.

Temari, daughter of the fourth Kazekage and older sister of the terrifying and powerful Gaara, was told since childhood that she needed to be a ruthless and imposing warrior. She became a proficient Giant Folding Fan fighter, capable of unleashing strong gusts of wind at will.

As she grew older, not only did her power grow, but also her influence. She became the official ambassador between the Leaf and the Sand, constantly traveling between the two nations. Woefully, after the Chunin Exams, we seldom saw Temari fight, making it harder to know exactly how much power she holds.

The wise and beloved Toad Sage, Jiraiya, had three pupils during his time in Amegakure. One of these talented students was Konan, a young and kind woman who dreamed of a world without pain or suffering. Konan was a master of espionage, hand-to-hand combat, and long-range attacks.

This versatility in combat was all thanks to her unique ability to turn her entire body into paper. By doing this, she could overwhelm her opponents from different sides, giving her the perfect opportunity to strike while they were distracted. Sadly, she was not the most physically strong fighter and could get easily overpowered, as seen during her fight with Obito.

Hailing from the small and mysterious Takigakure, Fuu was one of the few Jinchuriki we met during the show. A friendly, cheerful, and energetic young lady who tried her best to help everyone she could. Despite being inexperienced as a Kunoichi, Fuu was already a fearsome ninja, due to her increased strength and agility.

As a Jinchuriki, she had access to the Chakra and power of the Seven-Tails, Chomei. She used this power to manifest two large wings on her back, which allowed her to fly at high speeds and surprise her opponents. Tragically, her lack of expertise as a fighter turned against her when faced the Akatsuki, an encounter that ended in her death.

5Yugito Nii

While most Hidden Villages in the world had only one Jinchuriki to protect them, the strict village of Kumogakure had two. One of these vessels was the elite Kunoichi Yugito. Not only was she trained as a living weapon by one of the most severe and rigorous teachers, but she also had a unique bond with her Tailed-Beast, the Two-Tails Matatabi.

Thanks to this bond, Yugito could extend her fingernails until they resembled sharp and hard claws. When in danger, this Kunoichi could manifest the power of the beast residing inside her. Yet, she was still no match for the likes of Akatsuki, seeing as Hidan and Kakuzu killed her.

4Mei Terumi

After the reign of terror of Yagura as the Hidden Mist’s Mizukage, it was time for a more civilized and kind leader to take his place. This monumental task was given to the charismatic and charming Mei. Nonetheless, the fact that she wanted her homeland to be more pacific did not mean that she was less powerful than her predecessor.

Mei was the only individual in the Shinobi World to possess two Kekkei Genkai (unique blood-line abilities). The first one, Magma Release, gave her the power to expel lava from her mouth, using it as both a weapon and a defensive technique. The second one, Boil Release, created a toxic mist that would corrode those who breathe it. Still, she was nowhere near invisible, as exemplified when Madara defeated her in a few hits.

3Tsunade Senju

Only three ninjas in history gained the respect of the infamous Hanzo, the Three Legendary Sanin. The only female member of this group, the dedicated and hot-tempered Tsunade Senju, was arguably the most powerful member of this group. Not only did she possess super-human strength, capable of destroying entire buildings with a punch, but she was also the best Medic Ninja in the world.

Besides these already impressive abilities, Tsunade had outstanding control over her Chakra Flow, even able to reverse the aging of her body with this ability. When focused, she could use the Chakra that she reserved on her forehead for decades to increase her strength, durability, resistance, and speed. Nevertheless, Tsunade was defeated by themalicious and horrfying Madara, proving that she was not unbeatable.

2Sakura Haruno

When the show began, many fans saw Sakura as an inexperienced Kunoichi who preferred to gush over Sasuke’s looks than training. Still, as the years went by, Sakura proved herself as one of Naruto’s most valuable allies. Her training with Tsunade gave her the power to let the young and cowardly Sakura behind.

She also became a proficient Medic Ninja, being an invaluable healer during the Fourth Great Ninja War. Despite not having a bloodline ability or a Tailed-Beast inside her, Sakura’s strength was comparable to that of Naruto and Sasuke’s. Lamentably, she was still lacking in Ninjutsu and agility, something that hindered her from being more useful during the final battle.

1Kaguya Otsutsuki

While the Fourth Great Ninja War was taking place, most fans believed that Madara would be the ultimate villain of the show. The surprise was huge when a mysterious and unknown woman emerged from the Uchiha and took his place. This ominous entity revealed herself to be Kaguya Otsutsuki, the Mother of All Chakra.

As an Otsutsuki, Kaguya was sent to Earth to plant the God Tree that would give her clan eternal life. In her attempt to save the planet, Kaguya eats the fruit of the tree herself, becoming the equivalent of a Goddess. With the ability to teleport between dimensions, destroy anything her weapons touched, and manipulate reality, Kaguya becamethe mightiest womanin Naruto.
