Before we jump into Episode 8 of My Stepmom’s Daughter Is My Ex Season 1, let’s recap one the previous episode that aired last week,
Both Yume and Mizuto believe that Higarashi is in love with Mizuto, so they decide to interrogate her. Although Higarashi states that she just wants to be friends with Mizuto, Yume realizes that she is not yet sure of her feelings. Consequently, Yume and Minami decide to set her up on a date with him.
Yume and Mizuto are keeping a watch on Mizuto and Higurashi, and they come to a conclusion that Mizuto doesn’t have any romantic feelings for her. To entice Mizuto, they instruct Higarashi to use her breasts. But nothing works as Mizuto doesn’t take any interest in her. Yume realizes that changing Higarashi’s personality to attract him is inappropriate. Minami then gives Higarashi a makeover, but Mizuto teases her.
They finally decide that Higarashi should directly confront Mizuto and confess her love. She does the same, and Mizuto denies her very gently and says that he loves someone else. Yume is upset, knowing that Mizuto is holding back such strong feelings. At the end of the episode, Higarashi and Mizuto finally become friends again, and she is relieved that there are no deeper emotions between them.
