Black Adam’s arrival to MultiVersus is obviously tied to the release of the Black Adam movie in theaters over the last week, starring Dwayne Johnson as the DC anti-hero. That being said, the MultiVersus version of Black Adam has not been inspired by the movie or The Rock. Although the developer has not officially revealed the appearance of the character, it was previously leaked on Xbox Store due to a mistake in the game’s marketing campaign.

While nothing has been shared officially on Arcade mode so far, dataminers previously claimed that the upcoming Arcade mode will be a stage-based progression system, where players get to fight with AI opponents in every stage until they reach the boss fight. A developer behind MultiVersus recently confirmed on Twitter that the Arcade mode will support online co-op matchmaking as well (courtesy ofVGC).

Black Adam is going to be the 22nd playable character in MultiVersus, and the fifth DC-based character after Batman, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, and Superman. The fighting style of the character and his abilities are yet to be fully announced when the first trailers arrive for the next content update.

A recent announcement from Warner Bros. revealed that MultiVersus managed to reach over 10 million players across all platforms in the first month of launch. As a free-to-play experience, the game is supposed to receive more content in the future, including new playable characters from all WB-owned universes as well as new stages, new costumes, and probably new modes. Despite the fact that MultiVersus is available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, it has not been launched on Nintendo Switch so far.
