Mortal Kombat 1is one of the most exciting titles in the world. With the kind of adrenaline rush this game provides, there are only a few titles that can match the same. Even sometimes, it can cause the players to pull off heavy destruction, not only in the game but on the outside as well.

Mortal Kombat 1 player mistakenly breaks light sets worth $3,000 in the tournament auditorium.

Esports is a place to show you the metal and make your name in the gaming industry. With winning comes some huge celebrations as well. However, the celebrations sometimes go out of hand too.

Mortal Kombat 1 Player Threw Chair While Celebrating His Victory

It was the CEO 2024 Fighting Game Championship ofMortal Kombat 1in Daytona Beach, USA, where Alex “Dyloch” Ruiz and Curtis “Rewind” McCall went face-to-face to become the champions. In the end, it was Dyloch who came out victorious 3-1 and confirmed his ticket to the Grand Finals. But his win may have cost him more than what he got by winning the tournament.

In the excitement of winning CEO 2024, Dyloch threw his chair outside the wrestling ring where they were playing. And out of nowhere, that chair went straight into a $3,000 light fixture at the auditorium, eventually breaking it.

The winning reward for that tournament was just $565,which was nowhere near around the EVO 2024. And after the incident, Dyloch was told to pay for the damaged light. That means he had to spend almost $2,500 more from his pocket. Even the organizer of CEO 2024, Alex Jebailey, tweeted to ask Dyloch to pay for the lights as he won’t be bearing any cost.

A Smash Bros. player repeated the same a few months ago.

Does anyone know@RezDyloch’s PayPal cause somebody’s paying for that broken light fixture and it’s not me.

— Alex Jebailey (@Jebailey)June 25, 2025

Later on, Dyloch accepted his mistake and agreed to bear the cost of the light.

This Is Not the First Time Someone Has Thrown a Chair

Dyloch might have broken a $3,000 light set, but he wasn’t the first one to throw a chair on the stages of esports tournaments. In May, Smash Bros. Pro Hungrybox did the same when he won Get On My Level’s Smash tournament.

Hungrybox himself is pretty good with Jigglypuff, and his chair-throwing incident might have caught numerous views on the tournament, but throwing objects after winning a tournament is a sign of an unethical gesture.

Not only the monetary losses the players had to face due to damaging tournament property but throwing chairs recklessly can also lead to serious injuries to fans and support staff. Sometimes these kinds of careless behaviors cause trouble securing deals in the future.

This incident posed such a huge image in the community that it even caught the eye of famous streamer and gamer Ludwig.

Throwing off objects in the name of celebrations in the esports tournaments might look pretty adrenaline-rushed, but the way people see it puts a bad impression on them. What’s your take on these kinds of celebrations? Let us know in the comment section.
