It’s Time For God Eater To Step Out From Monster Hunter’s Shadow
God Eater deserves more than being known as just an “anime Monster Hunter clone.”
Monster Hunter Wilds’ Seikret Mount Is Your New Tracker
Monster Hunter Risehad the loveable Palamutes to gallop around on - and you could evenpet them- but Capcom is taking a leaf from Square Enix’s book to debut a new, Chocobo-styled mount in the Seikret. With the skin and face of a Velociraptor, the Seikrets flaunt purple plumage and cross the wilds as bipedal creatures.
After the Wilds trailer dropped, Capcom updated the official Monster Hunterwebsitewith new gameplay details, including a closer look at the Seikret. The animal mount is said to be the perfect hunting companion with “exceptional agility”, and thanks to its keen sense of smell, the Seikrets will be responsible for tracking down current objectives and selected locations - Hunters previously used Scoutflies for this task, as the green insects would direct players to crafting materials and hunting targets.

Additionally, the slinger - a fixed weapon resembling a slingshot that can also be used to grapple across gaps or to reach different levels - can be used while mounted, and the saddle will also be a safe space to heal, gather loot while moving, and sharpen weapons.
Seikrets Bring Dual Weapons Into Gameplay
Speaking of weapons, it was also confirmed that the Seikret would accommodate storing a second weapon while traveling, meaning players can switch between weapons while hunting and store the spare within the mount’s sling.
The fandom immediately championed the dual weapons feature, with several hunters joking they could carry two Great Swords now, or mulling over the combat possibilities unlocked by switching from a melee weapon to a ranged alternative.

Wilds is shaping up to be a progressive entry with several new features to aid monster slaying and exploration and fans will be able to dive into the experience in 2025 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
