The RPK is a returning weapon inModern Warfare 2and joins the long list of Light-Machine Guns, alongside the 556 Icarus and the Sakin MG38. This heavy weapon features a long barrel forhigh-range and keeps its recoil down to a minimum. Much of the community has dubbed the RPK as one ofthe best LMGs in Warzone 2, due to its capability of downing players quickly from relatively far away.

The RPK possesses one of thehighest levels of recoil control and handlingof its weapon type but falls behind other LMGs in mobility. However, much of its other stats (such as damage, fire rate, and range) are rather consistent with other Light-Machine Guns. The RPK is a considerable weapon choice for most players due to itsmanageable reload speedandhigh accuracy. However, it is on the slower side, making it less favorable among players who like to run and gun.
Unlocking The RPK
The RPK cannot be unlocked by simply reaching a certain level within Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2. Instead, you will need to progress through the Kastovia Weapon Platform to gain access to it. The first step you will need to take is tounlock the Kastov 762, which isobtained at Level 23. All that is left now is toreach Weapon Level 16with theKastov 762 to obtain the RPK. To level up your weapons inside Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, you will have to take them into matchmaking and obtain Weapon XP. The most surefire way of gaining significant Weapon XP is through eliminations, with DMZ being the most lucrative mode to XP farm.

Double Time & Scavenger
Fast Hands
LMGs will slow you down by a considerable amount, so takeDouble Timeas your first Base Perk. This way you canmaintain your tactical sprint longer, thus making up for that loss in mobility. Next, consider takingScavenger to resupply ammunition from eliminated enemies. Choosing Scavenger ensures you never run out of ammo in both your primary and secondary, thus allowing you to go on longer streaks in a single life.
Finally, takeQuick Fixtokick-start your health regeneration whilst gaining kills, allowing you to reengage the enemy team sooner after taking a significant amount of damage from your last gunfight.

For your Warzone 2 loadout, go ahead andswap out Scavenger for Overkillto equip an additional primary weapon.
Swap-To-Secondary Recommendations
Even with Fast Hands, the reload on the RPK is considerably slow. So, consider taking aPistolto keep you covered when an enemy is pushing you while you are reloading. TheX13 Autois great in this regard because it has aquick draw time and a fast TTKat close range. Alternatively, you can equip theX12. Although it is significantly less effective up close, the X12 does have a much better range.
For Warzone 2, instead, consider carrying anSMG. Doing so will offer you more mobility while you have it equipped and will prove useful for clearing out buildings and fighting players up close.TheFennec 45andtheLachmann Subareamong the best Submachine Guns in the game, and will not let you down in situations where enemies decide to rush you.
