TheFTAC Reconis one of the few Battle Rifles inModern Warfare 2. The gun itselfboasts the highest damage, mobility, and handlingof its weapon type – but it is beaten by other Battle Rifles when it comes to fire rate, range, and accuracy. Through its progression, you can unlock the FSS Hurricane, an SMG with exceptional range.

The FTAC Recon is especially strongwhen put into semi-auto fire mode, taking2 shots to kill from close-to-mid ranges. In most cases, a single headshot will completely eliminate an opponent at base health, with range – and armor plates in Warzone 2 – being the only exception to this capability. The gun also features a full-auto mode. However, unlikethe TAQ-V and the Lachmann-762, this fire mode hinders the gun instead of boosting its performance.
Unlocking The FTAC Recon
The FTAC Recon is a part of the M4 Weapon Platform andcannot be unlocked by reaching any particular level. Instead, you will need to fulfill the following prerequisites. Firstly, you will need togain access to Custom Loadoutsto be able to unlock the M4, which is doneby reaching level 4. All that is left now is progressing theM4 to Weapon Level 13 to get the FTAC Recon.

The attachments we have chosen for this weapon will significantlyimprove the effective range and accuracyof the FTAC Recon whilst alsoincreasing the damage and recoil control. However, this is achieved by reducing mobility and handling by a small amount.
For your first attachment, go ahead and equip theNILSOUND 90 muzzle. Doing so will improve your weapon’s damage range and bullet velocity,increasing the two-shot potentialfor opponents who are further away from you. As an added bonus, this suppressor alsoconceals your shots from enemy compasses, allowing you to be more stealthy in Warzone 2.
Next, we recommend using theFSS OLE-V Laser.This laser sight will compensate for the aim-down-sight and sprint-to-fire speed reductions brought on by other attachments. Your next two attachment slots should aim to add more recoil control to your gun, allowing you to easily land shots on your opponents in quick succession. TheVX PINEAPPLE and SAKIN ZX GRIPare great in this regard,adding considerable recoil controland steadiness to the FTAC Recon.
Your last option should be anoptic. Here we recommend theBPZ40 HYBRID,which is a dual optic that allows you toquickly swap from a 5.5x scope to a red dot sight. This optic will cover both core Multiplayer and Warzone 2, as you can utilize the red dot sight for smaller maps and the scope for more range in Battle Royale.

Double Time & Scavenger
For your regular Multiplayer loadout, it would be best to create a custom Perk Package. This way, you’re able to get the best perk combinations. For your base perk, go ahead and equipDouble Time, which will allow you tomaintain your tactical sprint for a long duration. This makes up for the mobility reduction of the FTAC Recon. Next, go ahead and equip Scavenger so that you can resupply ammunition from eliminated players. This will ensure that you never run out of ammo in either of your weapons.
For your Bonus Perk slot, we recommendFocus. The FTAC Recon is best used in semi-auto mode, so you must land all your shots in quick succession to eliminate a player as fast as possible. Focus willincrease your flinch resistance, allowing you to maintain precision aiming whilst taking damage. This is especially useful when utilizing the 5.5x scope in Warzone 2, as your aim will be all over the place upon taking damage otherwise.
Lastly, go ahead and equipGhost. Without the use of a launcher as your secondary, you will be especially vulnerable to UAVs. Ghost will make youimmune to both UAVs and Portable Radars, thus keeping your position a secret.
For your Warzone 2 loadout, you will need to pick a preset Perk Package, for which we have two recommendations. Our first isRecon, which containsFocusas an earned perk. The second isWeapon Specialist, which offers you the ability to equip two primary weapons through the use ofOverkill.
Swap-To-Secondary Recommendations
For Multiplayer, no swap-to-secondary is better than theX13 Auto. This is down tofast draw time and unique customization options. The best attachments for this Side-arm include theIMPACT POINTbarrel, theFTAC TIGER GRIP, and the50 ROUND DRUMmagazine. Make sure to swap to this weapon when an enemy gets too close or to save you when you are caught reloading.
For Warzone 2, your primary will handle most players from mid-to-long ranges, but we recommend taking anSMGto use up close. TheLachmann SubandtheFennec 45are the best in this regard due to theirfast fire rate and high mobility.
