It was recentlyreportedthat Modern Warfare 2 would require players to verify a post-paid telephone number, otherwise they wouldn’t get access to the game’s online components. This was met with a lot of backlash from Call of Duty players, asOverwatch 2had just recently gone through this debacle, where players with pre-paid phone plans couldn’t enjoy the game they’d paid for. Though Call of Duty hasn’t removed the requirement, they recently confirmed it is limited to PC where most cheating incidents take place.
