It is time that people stop murkingBorutoas a weak sequel toNaruto. Mikio Ikemoto has made some major changes to the series, andBoruto: Two Blue Vortexis enough proof that the series is finally getting interesting.

A major complaint regardingBorutowas the lack of villains who were as multifaceted as the ones inNaruto. But with the emergence of one character, those complaints are about to disappear.
Code is a Formidable Villain inBoruto: Two Blue Vortex
Code might not be the only villain inBoruto: Two Blue Vortex, but he is indeed a powerful one. Back when Code debuted inBoruto, he was already extremely powerful, and his power has only evolved after the threeyear timeskip. Code decided to attack Konoha after the time skip, despite knowing that he would face some extremely powerful people.
“It would literally destroy the anime”: Upcoming Boruto Two Blue Vortex Could Make or Break the Anime with One Crucial Decision
This can only mean that he is extremely confident in his powers and skills. Or he has a trump card up his sleeves that he refuses to reveal yet. He wanted to smoke out Boruto, which eventually happened. Code dismisses the threats posed by Boruto as he believes that his goal of consuming the chakra fruit would result in the death of the planet anyway. Code seems pretty desperate in the last few chapters but his pride has not been broken yet.
Code’s White Karma sets him apart from the other Inners of Kara. While almost every member of Kara had their bodies remodeled to gain strength, Code was different. Instead of modifications, limiters were placed in order to keep his strength in check and to avoid the undermining of Jigen’s leader position. This could mean that Mikio Ikemoto is reserving Code for a huge battle.

Mikio Ikemoto Might Create an Akatsuki-Level Code
The Akatsuki inNarutowere a group of shinobi that existed outside the Konohagakure village. Some of the most terrifying villains ofNarutobelonged to the Akatsuki, including Nagato, Itachi Uchiha, Obito Uchiha, Orochimaru, Hidan, and others. Needless to say, the Akatsukis played a huge role in Naruto, and thebeautifully developed villains are sorely missed inBoruto.
However, Mikio Ikemoto might have created Code as aproper answer to the Akatsuki.Ikemoto is currently in control ofBorutoand its developments andMasashi Kishimotohas very little input for the plot. But given that Ikemoto has helped Kishimoto for a long time during Naruto’s serialization and production, he knows Kishimoto’s pattern the best.

If Code were as weak of a character as everyone had presumed, Ikemoto would have finished him off already. However, the character still persists, and that could be because Ikemoto has something more in store for him. Code could becomeextremely powerfulin the upcoming chapters and even become the ultimate antagonist that both Kawaki and Boruto would struggle to finish off.
TheBorutomanga is available to read on Viz Media, and the anime is currently streaming on Crunchyroll.
