The 2024 Oscars are live! Fans are biting their nails as they wait to find out who takes the night’s biggest awards home. FromOppenheimertoPoor Things, the nominees this year are just incredible, making it harder for us to pick our favorites out of them all. One of the most awaited categories is the Best Animated Feature and let’s just say that each entry had something different to offer.

Christopher Miller’sSpider-Man: Across the Spider-Versewas a fan-favorite contender in the above-mentioned category and a ton of people were rooting for the film to lift the Oscar at the 96thAcademy Awards. Unfortunately, fate had different plans and the film lost to one of its contenders deemed more deserving by the decision-makers. However, the loss did not disappoint Christopher Miller who took it like an absolute champ!
Christopher Miller Reacts to Spider-Verse’sOscar Loss
Unfortunately for fans ofSpider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,the film could not emerge victorious tonight at the 96thAcademy Awards as it lost the title of Best Animated Feature toThe Boy and The HeronbyHayao Miyazaki. Of course, some viewers were not happy with the result while many believed that the win was absolutely deserving.
As forChristopher Miller, who served as the producer and writer ofSpider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,he kept his spirits high despite the loss. Taking to X, Miller penned out his feelings in a single sentence revealing that he was fine with the loss since it was the“GOAT”The Boy and The Heronthat ended up winning the title.

Take a look at his reaction below:
Well, if you’re gonna lose, might as well lose to the GOAT

Needless to say, Miller knows how to react to a devastating loss while keeping his head high and not letting an unfortunate moment get the best of him. However, the same cannot be said for theAcross the Spider-Verse’s lead actor,Shameik Moore.
Shameik Moore BelievesAcross the Spider-VerseWas Robbed
Moore plays the role of Miles Morales in the animated film and his reaction to losing out on the Best Animated Feature was quite salty, to say the least. As soon asThe Boy and The Heronwas announced as the winner, Moore took to his X account to write that his film was“Robbed”of the win.

The actor also tweeted:
Respect to the winners. It’s true, I’m definitely a sore loser, but we didn’t lose, Spiderverse has impacted ALOT of lives, we may not have been acknowledged tonight but life goes on, and BEYOND….. yea get ready 😤
Needless to say, many were disappointed with his reaction and Miller’s high spirits did not help Moore either. When a fan retweeted Miller’s words stating,“This is how you respond to losing btw”and tagged Moore, the actor replied by saying,“You’re right”and blamed his reaction on him being young and having a fighter spirit.

Your right, honestly the whole Spiderverse team are such good sports. Very professional and I’m excited to see what comes of this. I’m young, and a fighter, so forgive my nature. Congrats to the winnershttps://t.co/b4IRRrl9h4
WhileSpider-Man: Across the Spider-Versedid not win the Oscar, the film was absolutely revolutionary and a treat to watch. It’s not really the film’s fault it was up against the work of one of the most goated directors of today’s time!
