Jordan is a huge fan of Japanese anime and has also revealed its influences for the final fight in his directorial debut filmCreed III. Judging from this premise of the untitled film, there is one anime that Jordan and Coogler might be taking inspiration from.

The beloved animeHellsinghas a similar theme and tone to Jordan’s upcoming film. The anime series based on the popular manga series written and illustrated by Kouta Hirano, chronicles the adventures of the members of the Hellsing organization who is sworn to protect England from vampires and other supernatural threats.

“It was so much fun bro because at that time I was so young I didn’t really know what that show was going to be at the time. I was around so many talented veterans. You know Idris Elba was on there, Wood Harris. You had Dominic West, J.D. Williams, Andre Royo, Wendell Pierce, David Simon, you know there’s so many incredible actors that I got an opportunity at a young age to just learn from.
