Project Lumina has announced thatMelty Blood: Type of Luminawill bring two downloadable content characters, The Count of Monte Cristo and Ushiwakamaru, in a free update this week, on December 15 at 5:00 PM UTC. The upcoming update also adds new battle stages and language support for Spanish, French, and Brazilian Portuguese.
The Count of Monte Cristo and Ushiwakamaru first appeared in Fate/Grand Order, a free-to-play mobile RPG inspired by the Grand Order anime series. As part of the free content update for Melty Blood: Type of Lumina, the two fan-favorite characters will make their appearance to branch the game out with new stories. Described as “The Eternal Spirit of Vengeance,” The Count of Monte Cristo specializes in a unique combat style that requires players to rush in to attack when the enemy is trapped. With broad and long-range attacks, the character utilizes a combination of offensive and defensive skills. The Count of Monte Cristo performs normal skills that work as placement skills, forcing the opponent stuck in the corner.

Ushiwakamaru, on the flip side, can apply rapid attacks to dole out a certain amount of damage. She wields a sword to break down enemies' shields, as the character performs tricky movements to surprise the opponent and close gaps. Players will need to adopt a hit-and-run, speedy battle style while controlling Ushiwakamura during combat. Players can see her in action against the other characters in a brand-new gameplay trailer, which was shared on Project Lumina’sYouTube channel.
Moreover, the update adds two brand-new battle stages: Prison Tower and Face of the Surging Waves. The first arena was made for The Count of Monte Cristo, and the latter for Ushiwakamaru. In addition to Japanese and English, Melty Blood: Type of Lumina will be available in French, Brazilian Portuguese, and Spanish, with the release of the free update on December 15.
Melty Blood: Type Lumina is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
