A silent patch was dropped forMarvel’s Midnight Sunsovernight, and instead of fixing some bugs, balancing gameplay, or adding new features (as patches are meant to do), the game has reportedly become unplayable for numerous owners on PC.PCGamesNhas reported that, for many players, the patch never completes downloading, or it makes the game unable to boot up.

The exact anecdotes vary between players, but the matching trend is that it’s made the game severely difficult or even impossible to play. Sometimes the patch freezes less than halfway through and needs to be restarted, and sometimes the patch reaches 100% but then resets to the start without completing. It even allegedly crashed one user’sSteam Decklauncher.

PCGamesN themselves had their own issues when testing earlier this morning, but following a recent update, they stated that they were able to install the patch and get the game running just fine, though they do also state that some users have been able to get the game running as well, but have had a significantly worse experience, suffering from performance issues like, “lagging and freezing during loading screens.”

As of the writing of this article, Marvel’s Midnight Suns has yet to address the issue. The devs never even announced this patch, so its purpose is completely unknown, despite its notable 1.35GB size. This patch problem has been a known issue for at least several hours, but the only recent post on Marvel’s Midnight Suns officialTwitteraccount has been a video promoting a Blade cosplay from the character’s voice actor in the game.
