Marvel Rivalswouldn’t be much of a live service game if it didn’t feature a holiday-themed event, would it? Today, NetEase announced Marvel Rivals' Winter Celebration is kicking off this December 20th on all platforms, and it promises new stuff to spice up the experience.
To help drum up hype, NetEase has released a new trailer for the upcoming event where we see the adorable Jeff the Land Shark dressed up in winter clothes.
Marvel Rivals Winter Event Brings New Mode, Cosmetics
The Marvel Rivals Winter Celebration event starts December 20 at 7 pm EST/4 pm PST. Players can expect a new limited–time mode called Jeff’s Winter Splash Festival, which is a 4v4 Arcade Mode. There will also be a Gallery customization event called the Gallery Card: 2024 Winter Celebration. Players who complete tasks will be rewarded with limited-time items such as the Jeff the Land Shark Cuddly Fuzzlefin costume, nameplate, spray and more.
Expect a game update to be released alongside the event, and this should house bug fixes, and perhaps maybe even gameplay balance adjustments? Well, at least one can hope.

Alongside the game’s holiday-themed festivities, NetEase also announced a Marvel Rivals comic series as well. This will be available starting today, and even includes a free item that players can use in-game.
