With just a week away from launch, NetEase has released theMarvel Rivalshero abilites dossier, and this explains not only each launch character’s lore, but also what they can do on the battlefield.

The announcement was made on the official Marvel Rivals Twitter/X account, where the studio linked to the website where each launch hero is given a proper breakdown,

The landing page for the hero dossier not only lists each character’s powers, but even on their health and movement speed, too.Interestingly enough, the page scrolls from right to left instead of your standard left to right, and this is most likely because NetEase is a Chinese studio, and reading Chinese books are done right to left.

For those wondering why the lore might be different from what we’ve see in the movies, it’s because NetEase is mostly sticking to the comic book lore rather than what Marvel Studios has concocted for the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe).

Alongside the hero dossier reveal, NetEase has also announced that Marvel Rivals has gone gold! If you’re not familiar with the term, this means that development is now finished, and the game is ready to be distributed. Back then, going gold for games means that the title’s coding process has concluded, and the “gold” copy is ready to be sent out, mass produced and sold at retail.

The term is still widely used today to signal that a game is ready for release, though that doesn’t mean development will cease. Marvel Rivals is a live service game, which means gamers can expect seasonal content drops in the form of new heroes, levels, balance changes and more to be released all throughout the game’s lifecycle.

Marvel Rivals will land on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC this December 6 as a free-to-play title, and for those worried about cheaters, the studio is well aware of this being an issue, and hasalready confirmed that they have systems in placefor those who plan to use XIM devices and other unauthorized third-party tools to gain an advantage.
