This comes at the heels of the writer being stripped of his credits for Season 2, due to a breach of contract that DeMayo was under after his exit from Disney. DeMayo took to his X account to call out the House of Mouse yet again, this time alleging that they really do not care about fans.

Beau DeMayo’s war on Marvel just keeps getting uglier

Beau DeMayohas alleged that Marvel in particular is not very conducive to what might be best for fans. Allegedly, the comics giant relies on fans watching or hate watching their content, just as long as they can bring in the revenue that they aim for. While there has been no official confirmation of this, a lot of fans have echoed this sentiment, given that Marvel had begun churning out projects that had more to do with what they wanted to make as opposed to what fans wanted to watch.

I can’t speak to DC. But I can say from my experience, Marvel does not care about fans. Actually, when I’d mention what fans want is was like I said a curse word in the room. They care about money, and they routinely boast about how fans will watch or hate-watch either way.

Of course, fans are visibly upset about the development, taking to X to voice their concerns about the whole scenario, with a focus on the removal of Onslaught fromX-Men ’97Season 2.

Nasty work by Marvel I always wanted to see this on screen smh Marvel tv executives really don’t respect the comics at all

Onslaught

Looks like they are trying to rewrite season 2 and 3 so they don’t have to give DeMayo any producer credits.

If that’s true, fuck the creatives. Because we want that

Onslaught was a character that fans seemed to be very eager to see in the show. Apocalypse already seems to be on his way inX-Men ’97, given that two versions of the character simultaneously made their debut in the season finale. The series followed Onslaught’s origin story beat for beat, given that he was a result of Charles Xavier’s psychic attack on Magneto. However, the character will not be appearing in the series anymore, already unraveling what Beau DeMayo set up for the seasons to come.

Who is Onslaught, the psychic child of Magneto and Professor X?

The character, despite its zanier origin, was one of the most notorious antagonists of the X-Men, harassing them for quite some time, before Nightcrawler finally put the character and ended a lot of misery. However, just because Marvel has decided to scrap a version of the character, does not mean they get around the problem another way. There are versions of the character, created by other psychics just as powerful as Charles Xavier, such as Jean Grey’s version of the character.
