The fan theory said,“Luffy will let himself be defeated so that Koby can be the Hero that the people will need when the world needs to be rebuilt. Luffy doesn’t want to be a hero. He’s said it a thousand times already.”It has been teased for a long time that they will face each other.
The fan theory does claim they will fight, but Luffy will purposely lose. He will do it to make Koby a Hero.
