Some tidbits confirm some minor details about the upcoming game. We know that it takes place in the Taisho era, a period of Japanese history from 1912 through 1926 marked by the reign of Emperor Taisho. The attire of the characters in the trailer also matches that period, though the (presumed) main character has a distinct outfit. Before you go guessing whichYakuzacharacter it is, let me stop you right there:Yokoyama confirmedthat this is a brand new, original character explicitly made forProject Century.
He wears a black jacket with red stripes and lettering on the back. It starkly contrasts with the gray and brown button-ups and hats the town’s citizens wear. Some glimpses of the game’s action and combat sequences hint at a brutal, almost visceral feeling. These sequences are placed intermittently against snapshots of the game’s unknown town.
