As soon as you get control of Max, you can check around the house to see what’s been torn apart aside from the obvious rummaged Arcadia Bay memory box she keeps in the lounge.

As you inspect the house, you’ll realize the intruder is still there,in the basement, going through Max’s Darkroom. But before we confront whoever it is, you should do a few key things here.

you’re able to choose to go down to the Darkroom in the Dead Timeline and use Pulse to see who the culprit is in the Living Timeline and Max’s perplexed reaction to them.

Lastly, use Shift to warp to the Dead timeline and pick up thePolaroid collectibleon the table in the lounge,as this will be the only one in this section of Chapter 3.

Once that’s done and you’ve inspected all the possible interactions here, it’s time to approach whoever’s invaded our humble abode of the Living Timeline.

Chasing Down The House Intruder

As it happens, the house intruder is Max herself, and much to anyone’s shock, she tries to run and escape with the original Max in pursuit.

Following the cutscene, where you give chase through the woods, you’ll need to cross a gap to the other side. The only problem is that the log is gone, so use the nearby Shift Point to use the log bridge from the Dead Timeline instead.

Keep moving forward, and you’ll soon reach a dividing pathalong with Max reminding you that she can’t Shift back to the Living Timeline to track the impostor.

This is where Pulse comes in clutch.Use it, and you should be able to highlight Max’s impostor footstepsin the ground.

Eventually, you’ll reach a crack where you can shimmy through, leading to an underpass of a bridge where the impostor Max is waiting. Use the Shift Point here to return to the Living Timeline so you can finally corner her.

As the cutscene plays out, both characters get into a heated argument, and you’ll soon reach a point where you’ll need tosave yourself and the impostor via a QTE button pressto restore the crackling ice pond.

You’ll also learn the identity of this supposed doppelganger, which I’ll refrain from spoiling so you’re able to see it happen yourself.

Upon clearing this section, you’ll receive the"Face to Façade" trophy/achievementfor completing chapter 3 in Life is Strange: Double Exposure.
