Defeating The King’s Flame, Fuoco

Weapon & Items Of Choice

The King’s Flame is a Puppet enemy-type and isweak against Electricimbued attacks. With this being the case, we highly recommend using theElectic Coil Stickagainst this boss. The Electric Coil Stick Blade is great for ranking up Electric Blitz to deal damage over time (especially when activating its Fable Art), but we also went ahead andpaired it with theBooster Glaivehandle for its devastating ranged Heavy Attack.

Other items to consider include theFulminis Legion Arm, - to again rack up Electic damage - theElectric Blitz Grindstonefor none-Electric weapons, andThrowing Cells.

Countering Fury Attacks

Surprisingly, the Fury Attacks of the King’s Flame are some of theeasiest attacks to both Perfect Guard and Dodge. Though what you choose to do will largely depend on your playstyle, we absolutely recommendPerfect Guardingboth of these Fury Attacks. The first Fury Attack occurs when Fuoco begins to spin his fist. Fuoco will then attempt to charge at you, giving you a decent window to prepare for a Perfect Guard.

The second Fury Attack involves Fuoco raising his fist in the air and slamming it down to the ground. This particular attack has a steady and predictable wind-up time, so be prepared to Guard just as Fuoco drops his fist for a Perfect Guard.Perfect Guardingis a great way torack up the Staggerable status, but is not the only way.

Heavy Attacks

Heavy Attacksare a definite must for the King’s Flame boss fight, but you should utilize them at times when Fuoco is vulnerable to them. Just spamming Heavy Attacks is a sure way to lose the fight, as their large windup time leaves you vulnerable to incoming attacks. Try utilizing a Heavy Attack right after Fuoco’s previously mentioned Fury Attacks. If you havesummoned your Specter, then you can focus primarily on Heavy Attacks whilst the King’s Flame is distracted.

Heavy Attacks, combined with Perfect Guarding, should aid in putting theStaggerable statusinto effect, allowing you to Stagger Fuoco with a Charged Heavy Attack andfollow up with a Fatal Attack.

Lies Of P: P-Organ Upgrades, Explained

Here is a guide to the P-Organ Upgrades - the skill-tree system that provides Pinnochio with some useful upgrades in Lies Of P.

What Attacks To Avoid

Most of Fuoco’s attacks are pretty easy to dodge and Perfect Guard, as the majority of them have a decent windup time. However, there are a few that you should avoid if you do not have the best reaction time. Fuoco’s sweeping attack combos are one such move that can be difficult to counter, sododging backwardcan often be the best course of action. Fuoco can also sometimes deliver a swift kick if you are up close, sodo not linger around his feetfor too long when dishing out a few attacks.

One attack you most certainly need to avoid is his signature flame attack. At certain intervals, Fuoco will open his central furnace and begin to light the arena ablaze. This is a charged attack, so when it begins, head behind a nearby pipeor out of his effective range. Doing so willprotect you from Overheat damage- which will save you from taking on damage over time.

Dealing With The Second Phase

After losing a significant portion of his health, Fuoco will begin to switch up his attack routine. Though the first phase focused mainly on melee attacks, Fuoco will instead adopt a few ranged attacks. The primary attack the King’s Flame will utilize isflaming projectiles, which can easily be sidestepped. Fuoco will also eject balls of oil that leave puddles on the ground. Avoid standing in these puddles, as Fuoco can ignite them with any of his attacks.

The important thing to do during Fuoco’s second phase is tosidestep his ranged attacksandclose the distance between you both. Doing so will force Fuoco to adopt his aforementioned melee attacks, but also gives you the opportunity to real in that last bit of damage to finish him off.

Once you have beaten Fuoco, you will receive a series of rewards. One of said rewards is theKing’s Flame Ergo. Hold onto this, as it can betraded for a very strong weaponlater on.
