Larian Studios' CEO and founder Swen Vincke recently spoke onNintendo Voice Chatabout Baldur’s Gate 3. When asked how he felt about the potential of portingBalder’s Gate 3to the Nintendo Switch, Vinke answered with the following:

I honestly don’t know. I don’t know what the next Switches are gonna look like. On this particular Switch, that might be a bit problematic. There are quite a lot of upgrades that have been done onBG3, so I think it would be very, very hard. But then again, never say never. You never know. Maybe we’ll figure out some magic trick and it’ll work. I just hope personally as a fan the next Switch will have triple the power and triple the battery life. It’s an amazing device. I just hope it has a very long life with lots of upgrades that we can keep on playing all the games we’re playing on other consoles when we’re on the go.

So while we won’t be seeing such a port of the popular title anytime soon, hopefully we could see it in the future once any of the stated criteria is sorted out. Meanwhile, check out the video below for thatBaldur’s Gate 3section of the interview, as well as a host of other covered topics.

This isn’t the first timeBaldur’s Gate 3was teased and eventually revealed for other consoles. What seemed to be thedeveloper teasingeither a thirdDivinity: Original Singame or a third mainlineDivinitygame on its websiteturned outto beBG3instead. And later on the title was officially announced forGoogle Stadia.

If you’re still worried about the time period for the game, remember that this studiorecently statedthat it’ll come out for Stadia “when it’s ready” and they’ll be taking the time needed for it, to make sure it has everything right. So that same time and care would naturally be put into any ports ofBaldur’s Gate 3to ensure its quality.
