Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is a game that dumps you right into the action when it forces you to fend for yourself in Trosky.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Script The Longest In Game History Claims Director

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2’s script is said to be the longest in game history according to its director.

The game demands that you make some cash, complete quests against the odds, and only then will you be shown even the slightest amount of respect from those around you. However, when you make your way to Kuttenburg, things start to turn in Henry’s favor.

You’ll have ample resources, a speedy steed to get around on, and much more. Which makes the next batch of available side quests much easier to handle.

That said, they are no walk in the park if you don’t know what you’re doing. So here is a rundown of how to complete The Thunderstone, one of the first optional quests you will likely take on when in Kuttenburg.

Kona in Grund KCD2

How to Start The Thunderstone

No matter whether you get a quest tip from a local innkeeper, or stumble upon this quest in Grund, you’ll need to head to talk to Kona to start this quest. This woman can be found in Grund, usually near her home.

She will inform you that she needs the power of the Thunderstone and will ask you to head out to Horschan to talk to Thomas.

Mlada in KCD2

Getting The Thunderstone From Thomas

When you arrive in Horschan, you’ll find Thomas around town, and you may have already heard his name from a few innkeepers as he also runs a brawling tournament in town.

However, you’re here about the Thunderstone, and upon questioning him, you’ll have a few options for getting your eyes on this magical oddity.

You can either ask him for a look at the stone and then pass a Scholarship check, which will reveal that the stone isn’t real, which will then lead to Thomas revealing that the real stone isn’t in his possession and is actually with Peter in Raborsch.

If you can’t pass this check, then you can challenge Thomas to a fight for the stone. You will need to egg him on a little, but you should be able to pass at least one of the checks to get him to fight you.

Upon winning this fight, he will then reveal the stone, and you’ll be pointed toward Peter, albeit in a little bit of a more roundabout way.

However, if you’re able to pass none of these checks, then you will be forced to pickpocket the stone from Thomas, allowing you to confront him about the legitimacy of the stone.

Visiting Peter & Finding Hensel

This trip to Raborsch is really just a quick pit-stop because as soon as you get chatting with Peter, you find out that he no longer has the Thunderstone.

He claims that Hensel likely still has the stone, but he was captured by a man called Andrew and taken to the woods northeast of Raborsch.

Upon reaching the camp, you’ll have a few options for handling the situation. You could try to take the camp by force or via stealth, but you’re looking at a six-on-one fight, and those odds in KCD2 terms are not good.

So instead, I would suggest you at least attempt to hash this out with Andrew. If you speak to the guard at the entrance to camp they will grant you entry to speak to him.

There is the option to try and convince him that you are part of the King’s Army or strong-arm them into releasing the captive. But, even if you have decent persuasion stats, you’ll be very unlikely to win him over.

So, realistically, your options are to stealthily sneak into the camp at night and free Hensel, or alternatively, you can pay the 1,000 Gloschen ransom set by Andrew for Hensel.

I wouldn’t suggest you try and fight these guys, but equally, I wouldn’t suggest you pay the fee either. But whatever you choose, get Hensel out of there one way or another.

If you save Hensel, he will reveal a stash belonging to his captors by the Two Dead Trees, which will contain 348 Gloschen. It’s not quite as much as his 1,000 Gloschen ransom, but it’s something.

Finding Mlada

After you deal with Hensel and Ramshead, you’ll learn that the Thunderstone was sold to a lady in Suchdol. So you’ll want to head there as soon as you can, and you can then speak to Mlada, who bought the stone to aid her gravely ill husband.

Sadly, no matter what you say to her, she will be unwilling to part with the Stone until her husband is back on his feet so it leaves you with two options.

you’re able to either pickpocket the stone from her person or partake in the additional side quest, Primum Nil Nocere.

While the former is definitely the quicker of the two options, I would suggest you choose the latter, as this is a good source of reputation. Plus, it kills two birds with one stone.

Treating Mlada’s Husband

After speaking to Mlada, head to where Peter is lying and first examine the room, as this will allow you to do more checks on his well-being and make a more astute analysis.

The aim here is to pass at least three checks, which is relatively easy at this stage in the game. And provided you can do this, you’ll be able to establish that Peter is suffering from extreme, debilitating anxiety, and you should have an idea of how to treat him.

You’ll need to haveChamomileDecoction on you. If you don’t, I suggest you ride to Suchdol Castle and use the alchemy station there. You can also buy the necessary ingredients from the traders in the town square.

Then, after handing this over, try to pass all other checks relating to his diet and his fears about the imminent attack on Suchdol and give him a little prayer for good measure.

After this, all you can do is wait. I would suggest heading to the castle, where you have free room and board, and skipping time forward so you can rush to the end of this side quest. You only need to wait 24 hours, so you won’t need to stay too long in Suchdol.

Then when you return to Mlada, provided you have given Peter the treatment he needs, he’ll be back to work again, and you’ll be able to finally claim the Thunderstone.

What To Do With The Thunderstone

Then comes the conclusion to this quest, where you decide what to do with this much sought-after stone.

Essentially, you have three choices. you may either give this stone to the quest giver Kona, you can return the stone to its former owner Thomas, or you can keep the stone for yourself.

If you choose to give the item back to Thomas, you can choose between a cash reward of 150 Gloschen, or the opportunity to learn some wrestling feints that will improve your unarmed skills.

Then, if you choose to give the Thunderstone to Kona, you will get a bounty of rewards. You gain a discount with the Horse Trader in Grund. You’ll gain a recipe for Lethean Water, a potion that allows you to respec your character.

Plus, you’ll gain 100 Gloschen if you choose to take Kona’s money, and you’ll also gain a new skill teacher option in the form of Kona’s husband, who will teach you Journeyman craftsmanship skills for 1,500 Gloschen.

Then, finally, if you choose to keep the stone for yourself, you’ll gain the permanent buff that comes with holding the Thunderstone, which isn’t directly stated anywhere that I could find. However, it seemed to give a buff to Vitality and Scholarship when Henry obtained the item, so my assumption would be that these are the skills affected.

Of all the choices available, Kona is clearly the best of the bunch, as you get skills, cash, discounts, and an incredible recipe all in one. The choice is yours, but it seems like an obvious choice when you weigh everything up.
