The hype surroundingHelldivers 2shows no sign of subsiding any time soon. Since launching last month the popularity of this title has surpassed that of the popularPalworldgame which up until the launch of the game from Arrowhead, was the best-selling game on Steam. That accolade now sits with the fantastic third-person shooter and rightly so.
The game has drawn comparisons with that of the cult classic movieStarship Troopersand is perhaps that link that has proven to make the game so popular. However, as with many things in the ongoing console wars, there is always the rivalry between owners and with it, the debate about whose title is superior. Following the recent release ofHelldivers 2, this has sparked many PlayStation owners to taunt their Microsoft rivals.
What was said about Helldivers 2 on Social Media?
As can be seen fromSocial Media site X, Arrowhead Game Studios CEO Johan Pilestedt followed up on a query regardingHelldivers 2being greater thanHalo. In response to his comment, one user suggested that some friendly rivalry can be a good thing, as long as it stays friendly. To this, Pilestedt had the following statement;
Indeed. Also in business. Neither monopoly or cut-throat competition makes the world a better place.
It is an interesting statement to make and unfortunately, with the current console wars, there may not be an end to the cut-throat nature of publishers any time soon. Nor do we see an end to the rivalry between console owners as some unfortunately revel in such things.

Whilst both the titles are greatly loved by the opposing sides, there unfortunately always has to be one-upmanship with either side declaring that they have the better title. Would this change in the future ifHelldivers 2were to come to Xbox? We’re not so sure about that.

With the latter collecting studios like picking up new weapons in a game, it is perhaps no surprise that we are currently not seeing the game available for Xbox. However, could this be something that we see change in the future? There are not many fans who would be holding their breath on this.
Let’s not forget how disgruntled some PlayStation fans were that Starfield was a Microsoft exclusive. However, despite this, the publisher has started its multi-platform journey sharing with Nintendo and Sony, albeit not the most appealing titles. So could we potentially see the Arrowhead Studios title on Xbox? Time will tell.
