The fans’ concern is understandable as the actor himself wanted his character to be killed at the end of the last installment. In an interview withCollider,franchise producer Basil Iwanyk spilled the beans that theSpeedactor begged the team to put his character on eternal rest.
After the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th movie, making these films is so exhausting and it destroys Keanu, physically and emotionally. By the end, he’s always like, ‘I can’t do this again,’ and we agree with him.
He explained that getting deeply involved in the film was taking a toll on him, both physically and emotionally. The fourth movie ended with Wick’s presumable death after competing in a duel to free himself from the High Table.
After getting shot in the third duel,he seemingly diedwhile seeing a vision of his late wife, Helen. The film then cuts to a final scene of Winston (Ian McShane) and the Bowery King (Laurence Fishburne) visiting John’s gravestone.
