The New Year celebration in Hollywood has been brought to a halt earlier than usual by the unsealing of documents in connection with dozens ofJeffrey Epstein‘s alleged associates, employees, friends, and victims.

The disgraced financier and sex offender, who died in an apparent suicide while awaiting trial in 2019, was known for his association with the country’s most high-profile celebrities and politicians. Now, his expansive network of associates has come to the fore in the form of nearly 1,000 pages of court records.
Some of the big names, from the entertainment industry, on the list includeLeonardo DiCaprio, Bruce Willis, Cate Blanchett, Naomi Campbell, and Cameron Diaz. Kevin Spacey, who has seemingly been banished from Hollywood, after facing multiple allegations of sexual misconduct is also on the list.

Also named in the said files are former Presidents of the United States, Bill Clinton (42nd) and Donald Trump (45th).

It’s of paramount importance to understand this isn’t an Epstein “client list” and many individuals mentioned aren’t accused of any wrongdoing. However, this important disclaimer hasn’t stopped many internet users from criticizing a few of these figures.
In particular, DiCaprio, who’s often the subject of memes for his penchant for dating much younger women, is attracting a lot of controversial remarks from social media users. Many names on the list, including Prince Andrew, have previously attracted headlines for allegedly sexually abusing underage individuals.

As perCNN, a spokesman for Clinton confirmed in 2019 that he had flown on Epstein’s private plane but said the former president knew nothing of the financier’s “terrible crimes.”
The documents being unsealed are part of a lawsuit filed against British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s former girlfriend, in 2015 by one of Epstein’s victims, Virginia Giuffre. Here are the names included in the first batch of documents, with four redacted.

As perThe Guardian, the judge said some names should remain blacked out in the documents because they would identify people who were sexually abused.
