While there have been many cases of Swift’s face being deepfaked to scam or misguide people, it really got ugly this time as it were se*ually explicit fake photos of the singer. It intensified people’s fears of the danger of AI and who they might target next.

Fans of Taylor Swift were left in shock and disgust after se*ually explicit deepfake photos of the singer started circulating on X recently. It was even reported that thesinger and her loved ones were also offendedby these obscene pictures and X controlled the spread of the photos by blocking the search of her name on the platform.

This disgusting trend of celebrities being used in deepfake p*rn sites and their fake pictures being circulated on social media has been going on for years. However, serious action has never been taken by the concerned authorities and many of them have suffered horribly. Now, the US government is finally noticing and has announced a new bill to put an end to this vile trend.

As out byThe Verge, the government and lawmakers have now proposed the DEFIANCE Act (Disrupt Explicit Forged Images and Non-Consensual Edits. The act will allow people to take serious action against any kind of AI-generated imagery that threatens to ruin their reputation through derogatory imagery just like in the case of Swift.

Before, reports of these obscene nature were not addressed by the government as there were no laws that deal with deepfake p*rnography, as told by Omny Miranda Marton, Founder and CEO of the Sexual Violence Prevention Association (SVPA) (viaJudiciary.senate.gov). Now, with this new act, people can sue the culprits and collect financial damages from them if the proposed bill is passed.

The bill which was introduced by Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin, Lindsey Graham, Amy Klobuchar, and Josh Hawley is the first step to battle this disgusting trend. Culprits must be captured and severely punished so that no one dares to repeat it in the future.

The film is based on the book written by Elly Conway and little is known about the writer and people have been speculating her identity. However, Vaughn denied all these rumors in an interview withRolling Stone, He revealed that he got to know of the rumor from his daughter who told him that Swift wrote the book. Vaughn was surprised and told her daughter that the singer did not write the book and that a real Elly Conway does exist. He said,

The cast of the film has also been coy about the identity of Conway when asked during their promotional tour. Maybe Vaughn will introduce the writer of the book sometime after the film releases and put a definitive end to all the Swift rumors.
