Is Vander Graves?
If you’ve watchedVanderin Netflix’s Arcane, you might have realized that thecharacterdoes sound and looks similar to Graves. However, if you are hoping for them to be the same characters, you’d be disappointed.
In Arcane, we see thatVanderwas raised in Zaun, whereas Graves was born in Bilgewater. Besides that, the character was once referred to as the"Hound of the Underground"in the show. Interestingly, Underground or Undercity are other names for Zaun. Also, the title of “Hound” connects Vander directly to Warwick’s lore, a monster who haunts the streets of Zaun in LoL. So, it’s pretty much evident thatArcane’sVander is, in fact, Warwick fromLeague of Legends.
TheLeague of Legendslore says that Warwick was once a good man who wanted to lead a good life. However, his past caught up to him, and after several experiments in Singed’s lab, he became a monster. Interestingly, in the anime, we saw Vander going through a similar journey. He wanted to give up the violence for Vi and other kids. However, his past (Silco) threatens everyone he loves, so in the end, he uses the serum and becomes a monster to save Vi.
