From shadow drops on Game Pass to exclusives no one saw coming, Xbox can be full of surprises. Recently, something of that sort happened when a Redditor shared their experience regarding Microsoft’s‘weekly console bonus’reward.
What seems like a new feature technically feels like home with Microsoft Rewards, where customers can earn rewards using various services provided by the company. In the case of Xbox gamers, this news may either make them excited or disappointed, given that only a few are receiving this notification.
Xbox will now reward you for playing games, but only in some cases
Recently, Redditor yikesmyguy7392 shared somenewsthat got the community on two different pages. From the looks of it, seems that some players are starting to receive a notification that shows a new reward system for console players. According to the notification, gamers can earn 500 points just by playing games on Xbox Game Pass. Sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it?
However, this notification is only popping up for a few players, while others have to wait. Furthermore, there seems to be no actual announcement from Microsoft regarding this unusual pop-up. So, it’s likely that we’ll have to give it some time until this feature becomes a global deal for all Xbox players.
Some users like el_hoserino_ are claiming that the pop-up is a bit buggy and might either not show up or simply disappear:

At the moment, if you want to check whether you’re the lucky one or not, just head on over to the Xbox app on your smartphone. Tap on your profile’s icon and scroll down a bit to find something on the lines of Earn Rewards.
Can these credits be used in the store?
At the time of writing, Microsoft’s official page doesn’t speak much about Xbox rewards, especially the one mentioned by the Redditor. This may vary for different users, given the randomness of it all. We’re yet to see how Xbox better gamifies this new feature and brings in a reward system.
This is an interesting approach, considering the popularity and quality of Game Pass are strong enough to keep players in the loop anyway. Adding another layer of incentive to this might work like a charm.
