WithShadow of the Erdtreeso close to release, Hidetaka Miyazaki, the head at FromSoftware, has been appearing in interviews to speak on the latest expansion from the studio.Elden Ringis in the spotlight, and with good reason, as many believe the DLC is a strong, unofficial contender for Game of the Year.

Even Hidetaka Miyazaki is on board with a PC port!

However, even though all eyes are onShadow of the Erdtree, there is one project that many FromSoftware fans are still hoping will gain some attention. One interviewer felt the same way and decided to ask Miyazaki if PC players would ever be able to join The Hunt.

Hidetaka Miyazaki Is Hopeful but Wary When Speaking on Bloodborne Ports

March of 2015 was a turning point for many gamers, with cult classics such asHotline Miami 2: Wrong Number,Ori and the Blind Forest, andSlender: The Arrivalcreating significant buzz. One of the releases that is spoken about fondly even today was FromSoftware’s gothic horror love letter to Lovecraft,Bloodborne.

The title was a major departure from Hidetaka Miyazaki’s genre-definingSoulsgames.Bloodborneintroduced fast-paced combat, which required the player to fight more aggressively than the more versatile combat system of Souls. The setting also changed dramatically, transcending high fantasy and venturing into the realm of cosmic horror.

The title demonstrated FromSoftware’s versatility, showcasing how the studio could break away from an established IP and deliver a fresh, memorable experience. It was so memorable that nearly a decade later, fans are still asking for Sony to do something with the IP, if even just a PC port! When asked byPCGamerabout the same, Miyazaki stated that even the team wants it to happen.

I know for a fact these guys want a Bloodborne PC port. If I say I want one, I’ll get in trouble as well. But it’s nothing I’m opposed to. Obviously, as one of the creators of Bloodborne, my personal, pure honest opinion is I’d love more players to be able to enjoy it.

Will PC players ever be able to join The Hunt?

A sequel may be asking for too much, but a PC port would allow new audiences to enjoy a masterpiece of a title while ensuring the game remains playable for the foreseeable future rather than being exclusive to a console.

Bloodborne’s Insights Influenced Future Generations of Games

FromSoftware is known for creating titles that become a genre unto themselves. The game’s influences, whether combat or storytelling, are far-reaching and have given us some amazing experiences.Hidetaka Miyazaki has even included a subtle reference toBloodborneinShadow of the Erdtreeby way of a new weapon!

There isn’t a single gaming conference that happens without fans of the game hoping a remake, remaster, or sequel gets announced. As Miyazaki has stated before, the game is not owned by FromSoftware, so even a PC port is not their decision to make.

While it seems to be a futile hope, gamers will continue to request anything related toBloodborne. The recent references to the game in PlayStation’sASTRO’s Playroomhave once again activated the rumor mill that Sony may have something planned.

Gaming was one of my earliest passions then along came writing, and here we are. I’ve been in the content creation space for several years now and as gamer for even longer. From understanding the complexities of a multilayer narrative to the simply joy of “big gun go boom”, my goal is to capture all the emotions in between and put them down in an engaging manner.
