But he alone could not have pulled the most illustrious plot twist ever. He was helped by two other Gotei 13 captains, Gin Ichimaru and Kaname Tosen. While Kaname Tosen always wanted revenge on the Soul Society, Ichimaru bore a different motive.
The majority of the fans see him as an antagonist, but he did show signs of goodness when he tried to save Rangiku Matsumoto. Due to his nature, Tite Kubo wanted to give him a creepy look. But it all backfired on the mangaka when he saw the creepiness attracted countless female followers.
Tite Kubo Is Envious Of Gin Ichimaru
But it turned out to be the mangaka’s biggest mistake since he would be suffering from it. During an interview, he said,
In my opinion, I was trying to draw him all creepy since his first appearance, but for some reason, he is a man who is very popular amongst women. I envy him.
Ichimaru’s creepy look was hailed amongBleach’s female followers as one of the best-looking guys in the anime.
Even after the creepiness, the mangaka saw a massive hike in the character’s popularity. In the anime, Ichimaru was friends with Rangiku Matsumoto, one of the most beautiful Soul Reapers. So, the Captain of the 3rd Squad did have the caliber to attract females. But the mangaka never imagined he would be able to do the same in real life.Tite Kubo‘s efforts to make him creepy made him handsome.
Gin Ichimaru Is An Antagonist And A Traitor InBleach
WhenAizen Sosukerevealed his devious self to the Soul Society, everyone realized that Gin Ichimaru and Kaname Tosen were also a part of his plans. Since then, Ichimaru has been treated as a major antagonist by the Soul Society and the fans.
Even though he joined Aizen for revenge, his reason was different from Tosen’s. When he was younger, he overheard Aizen and a few other Soul Reapers who mentioned stealing a portion of Rangiku’s Soul with the Hoguoku. The vice caption of the 10th Squad was a dear friend, so he vowed to take revenge on Aizen Sosuke.
