In theHelldivers 2universe, anything and everything is a threat to the supremacy of Super Earth. Whether it’s crusty Terminids or deadly Automatons, the Helldivers are tasked with finding and eliminating anything that comes in the way of Democracy and expansion.

Will we be pointing our guns at a new Helldivers 2 enemy?

While the fight against the Terminids and Automatons has been going on with great vigor, the war is far from won. There is always a new threat on the horizon, and this time quite literally. People have been seeing strange things in the sky, and the Ministry may not sanction looking up during missions anymore.

Ominous Ships Spotted in the Skies During Missions by Helldivers

One would think that when on a mission, Helldivers would know to keep their heads down and their guns raised. But it seems some have taken to enjoying some sky scenes when they should be working towards expanding the reach of Super Earth. Well, it wasn’t all for nothing, as doing so revealed massive cloaked ships over Automaton worlds!

The images were shared by @Helldiversmedia and showed the massive ships in the sky across four different areas. Oddly, these ships have been spotted only over Automaton worlds, which raises more questions than answers. Regardless, it’s another thing to keep an eye out for, and we may get a possible explanation in an upcomingHelldivers 2update.

The replies in the comments show that other people have also seen the ships but were not aware of what they were. Some even felt they may have just been clouds in a strange shape. Others speculate and possibly hope that this may be hinting at upcoming ship-based combat in space.

New foes but same old way to take them down: lots of bullets.

One person has replied, saying the ships look like common Super Destroyers. But another has theorized that the Automatons are just creations, and we will now be facing the creators. One thing is for certain: almost everyone is blaming Joel, the game master at Arrowhead Games, for the appearance of the ships.

Helldivers 2 May Be Getting A New Category of Enemy

As stated before, Super Earth has no shortage of enemies trying to thwart its expansion. While the Terminids and Automatons have been the focus so far, there are other factions to keep in mind. Some feel that this mayherald the coming of the Illuminates, one of the most intelligent foes in the Helldivers universe.

There have been rumors previously that a new enemy faction would be coming toHelldivers 2in an update. The ships in the sky may be a sign that this new faction is on its way. Alternatively, one can assume a new assault from the Automaton forces, one with even greater armaments and more underhanded strategies.

It appears the Helldivers will have their work cut out for them. Despite winning battle after battle, there is no end in sight to the war. Super Earth must prevail, and any patriotic Helldiver is going to do all it takes to ensure the homeworld is victorious on every front.
