Palworldis a title that’s seeing a lot of love from players worldwide. The game’s still in Early Access but is available as part of the Game Pass library for Xbox and PC and is also available for purchase separately on Steam. Since it came out, it has shattered various records, including taking over Twitch by trending at number one and seeing a phenomenal growth percentage on the platform.

The game has been a tremendous success with over 8 million sales in under a week.

Now, a fan of the game on its subreddit has shared a post, explaining why they’ll now have a hard time circling back toPokémonor any such games that are similar to the title. The post took off on the subreddit and managed to gain over seven thousand upvotes within 24 hours.

A Palworld Fan Posts a Wholesome Message on the Game’s Subreddit

The message waspostedby a Reddit user going by floggedlog on the game’s subreddit, and in it, the post author shared their experience and howPalworld’s creature-taming and overall offering appealed to them.

This is what the Redditor said in the post about the title:

Palworld has various creatures the player can find and tame.

I grew up, reading pocket monsters. I’ve always been one of the ones that’s aware the world of Pokémon is a lot darker than the games and mainline TV show let on. I’ve watched Beloved Pokémon get shot in the face. Dead. I’ve seeing team rocket poaching slowpokes and unlike in the game they didn’t stop at cutting off the tail.

In the post, the fact that thePocket Monstersmanga was much more horrific, chilling, and dark than the animated show that was kid-friendly is driven home. A lot of horrifying details in the manga are almost nonexistent in the games and the TV show. Fans of the series will nod in agreement when it’s said the games and the TV show were aimed at younger audiences, and it was telecasted on channels that were meant primarily for kids.

The other information offered by thePalworldandPokemonfans is that Team Rocket, made up of the hilarious Jesse and James, is shown as almost harmless in the mainstreamPokémonmedia. In the manga series, however, Team Rocket’s a vicious team of bandits who’d go to any lengths to ensure their objectives and goals are completed. The poster also states that plot armor’s the only thing stopping Team Rocket from using lethal force against the player character in the game.

For those unaware, plot armor’s something used by creators and writers to ensure that the protagonist is safeguarded or steered away from situations that can lead to their demise. This is done because the plot of the media that employs the plot armor approach is written while keeping in mind that the protagonist will at least stay alive, if not well.

Continuing with their heartfelt message on howPokémonrestricts all of that, the post also mentions how, in the manga andPalworld, the struggle of the protagonist surviving wild creatures with the former’s sole purpose being survival is very well displayed.

Also, the unhinged nature of the title has even sparked controversy from the owners of thePokémonIP, which is, as per the user, the USP of the game. Also, this is true becausePalworldwas primarily a valiant move on the part of Pocketpair because of the trouble the game had the potential to incite. Ultimately, the user states that they hope the lawsuit againstPalworld‘s creators fails so that they and countless other gamers can continue enjoying the game.

A perfect point made by the user is thatPalworldis not just aPokémonripoff. Yes, it was dubbed“Pokémon with guns,”but there’s so much more to the game than that. Base building, survival, and open world elements, to name a few fresh features.

In other instances, some indie games have tried something done by Pocketpair. Sometimes, they have succeeded; sometimes, the attempt has fallen flat. What do you think will be the fate ofPalworld? Do you think it’ll be able to stick around? Or do you think Nintendo will win the lawsuit? Let us know in the comment section.
