Brown seems to alternate between an American and British accent in interviews. In her appearance onThe Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, she constantly fluctuates between the two accents throughout while speaking to Jimmy Fallon. Fans thought this was weird and were concerned that she got too used to living in America and had slowly started losing her British accent.
However, that is not the case, according to Brown herself. In an interview, she stated that she likes to adapt to the place she goes to and wants to mimic other people. She gives examples of her fiancé and Fallon, who are American and automatically switching to an American accent to adapt to their manner of speaking.

She further explains that this process follows when she goes back home to England, where she switches back to her natural accent. She said (viaThe Hollywood Reporter)
“I grew up in America. I come to set, and I’m an actor, and I adapt, and so I want to mimic other people! I can’t help that when I’m around my fiancé, or when I’m with people like Jimmy Fallon, who have a very American accent, I wanna replicate it! And now I’m in England, I wanna replicate that [accent]! I don’t do it intentionally, and I’m sorry if it offends you, OK? But listen, I’m trying my best! I’m trying my best.”

Brown also clarified that she is not mocking anyone by her accent fluctuations, and she is only trying to adapt to the environment around her. People can get too carried away sometimes and assume the worst when they see something they don’t like. This clarification from Brown will put away the doubts that people had.

“I think that’s probably what drew me to it the most, is just it’s not a typical fantasy. It’s not a typical fairytale. The princess ends up being her own savior. I just think it’s a good message to send and put out there in the world. And so, yeah, I think that’s probably what drew me to it.”
