Stardew Valley 1.6 is out now on mobile, and game developer Eric Barone added a surprise feature. Players can access an experimental mobile multiplayer feature still in beta form. The game is accessible to any players on the same version connected to the same Wi-Fi or hotspot or to any player port-forwarding their game. It’s an exciting moment for Stardew Valley players who have been able toaccess multiplayer mode on PCsince it went into beta way back in April 2018.
After sharing news ofStardew Valley’shidden multiplayer mode on his @ConcernedApe account on X, Barone explained the feature’s offerings while warning users that it may have bugs and other issues.

According to Barone, he kept the mode hidden from regular play because:
Stardew Valley’s Mobile Multiplayer Has A Few Differences From Other Platforms
While much of the gameplay remains unchanged, Barone notes that the mobile multiplayer mode does not offer a farm “discovery” capability.
He also warns that users can only connect via IP, while you may still join a PC-hosted farm from a mobile device using IP.

The Ideal Way To Connect For Mobile Multiplayer Access
The game’s developer notes that Stardew Valley’s mobile multiplayer is best accessed when connecting to a PC_hosted farm from a high-end mobile device over WiFi (instead of 4G or 5G mobile data). He openly admits that connecting over a mobile data connection will likely cause issues, at least while the mode is still experimental.
While mobile data users may still be able to connect, Barone says the experience, while available, might be “frustrating.”

Here’s How To Connect To Stardew Valley’s Mobile Multiplayer Feature
When you access the title screen on your mobile device, you’ll see the Stardew Valley logo with four groups of leaves. Barone highlighted the up, down, left, and right arrows you’ll need to gain access.
Taps the leaves in the following order using the image above:

↑ ↑ ↓ ↓ ← → ← →
Then press the “?” button in the bottom right corner of the screen. That’s (Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, ? ) -That was very Konami Code of him!

After you exit the “?” menu, you’ll see a co-op button on the title screen. From there, you’ll find the “Host” or “Join” options.
To Join: Enter your host’s IP address.
To Host: You’ll need to set up your farm first, and if there are cabins available you should be able to give guests access via your IP address.
How To Find Your IP Address On Mobile For Stardew Valley Multiplayer Mode
Barone was nice enough to provide a quick walkthrough on where to find your IP address for both iOS and Android.
For iOS: Settings -> Wi-Fi -> Click the (i) next to your Wi-Fi name -> Look for “IP Address”
For Android: Settings -> Network & internet -> Internet -> Click the cog next to your Wi-Fi name -> Look for “IP address”
IOS users need to “Allow” local network access when that option pops up. You’ll only have to do this one time to gain access to the multiplayer mode.
And that’s it; you’re now ready to play Stardew Valley’s hidden mobile multiplayer mode. Drop a comment in our thread below if you experience any strange issues, we’ve love to hear how the experimental mode is playing out for everyone.
