Pete Roseis a three-time MLB World Series Champion, having had a long and illustrious baseball career for teams such as the Cincinnati Reds and Philadelphia Phillies. However, following his retirement, Rose gained recognition for his time in the WWE.
Rose was the guest ring announcer for a match betweenUndertaker and KaneatWrestleMania14. Before the match, he taunted the Boston crowd about winning the World Series with the Reds by beating the Red Sox. However, Rose received a tombstone piledriver from Kane to the pleasure of the Boston crowd.
Rose’s appearance started a running gag in the WWE, with the former baseball star returning atWrestleMania 15, dressed as the San Diego Chicken and attacking Kane, but received another tombstone piledriver. AtWrestleMania 2000, he attempted to attack Kane with a baseball bat but was thwarted.

Rose earned the nickname “the Big Red Machine” for his performances for the Reds. He moved to the Philadelphia Phillies in 1979 and won the World Series title with them in 1980.
During his career, Rose became the undisputed hits king of the MLB, holding the record for most career hits with a staggering 4,256 hits to his name. He created other records such as most career at-bats (14,053), most career plate appearances (15,890), most career games played (3,562), and many others. Rose was also included in the MLB All-Star team seventeen times.
