Few superheroes inspire dread as much as Homelander. It’s not just that he is a Superman clone, making him a god amongst men within the universe of The Boys. It’s that he is very well aware of this fact and isn’t restricted by any moral code. After all, in his own words, “I’m stronger, I’m smarter, I’m better. I AM BETTER!”

But, just as Supes has his Kryptonite, the superhero has his failings. He is an overgrown manchild who frequently lets his emotions dictate his actions. That makes him incredibly volatile and dangerous—two qualities making him a perfect addition to theMortal Kombat 1roster!
Homelander’s Mortal Kombat 1 Movesets Heavily Reference Scenes from The Boys
Whenever a fighting game such asMortal Kombat 1introduces characters from other franchises, fans want to see the characters bring some of their iconic mannerisms to the game. It appears the antagonist fromThe Boyshas chosen to showcase his brutality with the last option.
A Mortal Kombat Fan-Favourite Finally Joins Mortal Kombat 1 in April 2024, and He Already has the Best Fatality of the Game
X user @TempVButcher has created a thread showcasing the various references the developers have included in Homelander’s various moves in the game. The very first one on the list is an iconic moment from the first season, where the superhuman uses his laser vision to burn through the eyes of Madelyn Stilwell, a person with whom he had a very complex (Oedipal) relationship.

The same move is replicated in the game, where players will be able to grab their opponent and give them a face full of laser vision before letting them go. This isn’t the only use of his laser vision, as there appears to be a fatality, which is a reference to a scene from Season 3 where he burns through the head of a protestor.
When first revealed, fans of the game werenot happy with how the character was shown in the trailer, with many calling the inclusion similar to a fan mod. But it seems the developers have taken the time needed to make the superhuman true to the series.

Mortal Kombat Fans Can Soon Play As The Superhuman
Homelander will be available for the game on June 4th for early-access players. Given his similarity to Superman, there is undoubtedly going to be a competition between himself and other characters. One iconic face-off would be against Omni-Man from Invincible. The two are alike in several ways but also differ greatly in how they fight and act.
“Not gonna happen”: Mortal Kombat 1’s Ed Boon Makes Sure Everyone Knows 1 Fighter Won’t be Joining this or Any Installment’s Roster
There is one character that Ed Boon said will not make it to the roster. A fan created a mod that replaced the Scorpion costume with that of Ed Boon. This led many people to ask for the character model to be added to the game officially. While Boon found the mod amusing, he stated very explicitly that it wouldn’t be coming to the game.
The game has been out for a while now, and the regular new additions are keeping the game fresh and exciting for new and existing players. Some characters are also set to appear in other games, such as claims of Shan Tsung appearing inMultiVersus.
