Hogwarts Legacyis full of many classmates to meet and help out. A few classmates are a bit bigger and become companions with their own storylines for you to follow; others only act as quest-givers but make the wizarding world feel even more full.

Some of the side quests you find are simple fetch quests, having you explore the incredibly complex Hogwarts Castle, while others may send you out into the world, exploring new areas and fighting many enemies. The Tale Of Rowland Oakes starts out with a classmate simply asking you to check up on their father, but quickly spirals and leaves you face to face with many goblins and even a troll.
Checking Rowland’s Campsite And Following The Map
After receiving the quest, you’ll get a mark on your map as to where Rowland last set up camp. This location isjust west of the Forbidden Forestand can be relatively easy to reach. Upon reaching the camp, you’ll see Ranrok loyalists attacked, needing to be defeated, and Rowland is missing.Cast Revelio and check the ground near the cageto see a note and also a map on the boxes just past it. The map will tell you where Rowland has been taken.
The map shows multiple landmarks to help you find the Loyalist’s hideout, the most notable being the river.Leave the camp the way you cameand head down the hill until you reach the river. Staying on your current side of the river, run alongside it downstream. If you stick to the path,your character will continue to make a note of each landmarkas you pass them. Continuing down the river will eventually lead you to a Loyalist camp, where Rowland is being held.

The Loyalist Camp
Arriving at the destroyed tower will see you facing a bandit camp with the ruins located somewhere within. There will be many goblins to fight through the camp, with the entrance to the ruins being in theback right corner when facing it head-on. This camp is mostly linear and will require you to fight through it to reach the entrance to the ruins.
Throughout the camp, there will be goblins with crossbows that are easily countered with Accio to pull them off the safety of their walls. At the back end of the camp will be a path to the right and left, with theright taking you to the door to the ruins. Taking the path to the left will see you reaching a small field with a troll to fight.

Once inside the ruins, it is anothermostly linear path with numerous goblins to befighting at once.Use many levitation spells to control your enemy’s movement, and have less attacking you at once. Focus down one at a time, as there will be many with shields that will block your attacks if you’re not careful.
You’ll first find Rowland locked up, without his wand and with no way for the protagonist to open the door. Return the way you can and reach the boiler door. To open the boiler door, you’ll need tohead up the ramp to the left of the doorand run along the upper area of the room to reach the furnace. Then, cast afire-based spell like Incendioto ignite the wood and start the furnace.
Once through the door, there will be one last room full of goblins to fight. Within this small horde of Goblins willbe a named boss, who is slightly stronger than the rest. This named goblin is fought just like the rest and can be easy after practicing how to fight goblins for the whole quest. After defeating these goblins, you’llretrieve Rowlands’s wand in the back room, then take it back to return it to him. Once he releases himself from the room, he’ll thank the player, and the quest is complete.
