The giant beast might be intimidating at first, but when they are shown the proper respect, they can make a great ally. Here’s how you’re able to find a Graphorn and add it to your Vivarium.
Pre-Requisites For Catching A Graphorn
Unlike a lot of beasts in the game, Graphorns require you tocomplete a vast majority of the main quests before you can catch one.You will need to completeSan Bakar’s Trialfirst, which involves defeating a Graphorn in battle either through kneeling or attacking.
This is thefourth and final trial in the game, and is towards the end of the story.Therefore, you won’t be able to unlock the ability to catch and mount a Graphorn until you reach this point. If you have completed the quest, keep reading to find where you can find the beast.
Where To Find A Graphorn
Like all other beasts, Graphorn can befound in a den on the map.There is only one den for Graphorns, located at thevery bottom of the map in the region of Clagmar Coast, shown above.If you have not completed the required quests, you can still visit the den, but there won’t be any Graphorns present yet. It’s a good idea to visit the area beforehand, though, since you’llalready have the Floo Flames unlocked, and you’ll be able to quick travel once you have the ability to catch a Graphorn.
You’ll want to approach the area slowly and quietly. It’s recommended that youuse Disillusionmentbefore going in so the Graphorns don’t notice your arrival.

How To Catch A Graphorn
Some beasts prefer to run away when they come into contact with you, while others will attempt to fight.Graphorns in particular will begin attacking you when they notice you, meaning you’ll have to defeat them in battle before you capture them.
The best way to avoid taking too much damage is tostand on higher ground while you throw attacks at the Graphorn.It’ll be harder for them to reach you up on a rock, so you can just focus on taking it down rather than dodging attacks. You can usespells such asDiffindo, Expelliarmus, and Confringoto deal damage.
When the Graphorn’s health bar has been fully depleted, this is when you canwhip out the Nab-Sack to capture it.You’ll only need to press one button prompt to catch it, and then you can take it back to your Vivarium.
