2025 has been off to an incredible year. We’ve already spent hundreds of hours playingClair Obscur: Expedition 33andKingdom Come: Deliverance 2.Doom: The Dark Agesis on the horizon, and theNintendo Switch 2will be here before you know it.

Still, there’s one game that has been on our minds for years, ever since its announcement in 2019. Aside fromvague updatesand misplaced hope, it’s a game that hasn’t seen the light of day often. Until now, that is.

Now, we know when we’ll be able to play the game, provided we’re lucky, of course.

Hollow Knight: Silksong Will Be Playable for the First Time at an Australian Museum This September

According toIGN, Hollow Knight: Silksong will be playable for the first time at Australia’s National Museum of Screen Culture (ACMI) on September 18th. It will be part of an exhibition called Game Worlds, featuring various games that dive further into artistic direction and video game design. As for why it’s taking place in an Australian museum, remember that developer Team Cherry is based in Australia, so this is their backyard.

“Since Hollow Knight: Silksong’s initial announcement in 2019, it has been one of the most anticipated indie games on the planet – and we are thrilled to celebrate the design of this South Australian-made game as a centrepiece of Game Worlds in September,” ACMI co-curators Bethan Johnson and Jini Maxwell said. “We’re so grateful to Team Cherry for trusting us with their work, and so excited to share that work with you!”
