Episode 23 of86 Eighty-Sixis now available to watch on Crunchyroll, and after watching the season finale, fans wonder if A-1 Pictures has confirmed Season 3 of the popular anime series. Well, here’s everything we know about the show’s renewal.

A-1 Pictures picked up the anime adaptation of the manga series and premiered the show in April 2021. The production house divided the first season of the anime series into two cours. The first cour ran from April 2021 to June 2021, and the anime returned with the second cour in October 2021, which lasted until March 2022.
For some reason, the entire anime community considered both cour of86 Eighty-Sixanime series as individual seasons. Even Crunchyroll released the trailer for the second cour under the"Season 2"title. And now that the second season has come to an end, the community is looking forward to season 3 of the series.
86 Eighty-Six Season 3 Isn’t Confirmed Yet
When writing this post, A-1 Pictures hasn’t officially confirmed Season 3 of86 Eighty-Six. However, the finale for Season 2 has just dropped, so it’s best to wait a little more to hear something about the show’s renewal.
There’s no arguing that86 Eighty-Sixis an incredible anime series that flexes a fanbase of millions. Obviously, the anime, especially season 2, went through several delays that frustrated the community. But it’s hard to deny that A-1 Pictures has done great work with direction and animation. Currently, the anime is sitting at a rating of 8.20 onMy Anime Listafter 200K+ ratings.
On top of that, there’s enough content from the novel series for the anime to adapt. So far, 11 volumes ofEighty-SixLight novels have been released, and the anime has adapted only three volumes (Via:The Anime Daily). So, given the availability of the source material and anime’s popularity, it would be crazy for A-1 Pictures to drop the anime series.
Nevertheless, it’s still too soon to get your hopes up; we’ll probably hear something about the show’s renewal in the coming months.
