The idea behind making a new launcher was quite simple, the developers wanted to ensure that they get more revenue from its games, considering the fact that Steam takes a hefty cut for games listed on the storefront.

Earlier today, Bethesdaannouncedthat it is permanently retiring its Bethesda.net launcher. For players who don’t use the launcher to play games, this won’t make a difference. But many did shift to the Bethesda launcher, so for them, they might have to do a few things to make sure they don’t lose their games.

The announcement notes that players will be getting detailed instructions in April about how they can start the entire migration process. It is further noted that players will only be getting until May to complete the process, and they have been advised to complete it as early as possible.

Now coming to the most important part, saves and progressions. Well for some games, your save games and progression will automatically transfer. For others, you need to manually copy-paste the files, and they will provide information about how they can complete the entire process. That being said,Wolfenstein: Youngbloodis the only game that will not be supporting either manual or automatic save transfer, so players will not be able to carry over their stuff from that game. However, in-game skins and DLCs should carry over normally.
