Currently, the SH-32 Shield Generator Pack is the most popular defensive Stratagem in the game, however, there is another one that has a lot of potential. The SH-20 Ballistic Shield Backpack is a more traditional defensive weapon, similar to those we see in FPS video games. Using this Stratagem certainly helps. However, Arrowhead Game Studios needs to buff it up to encourage players to use it. TheHelldivers 2community has some unique ideas that the studio could use to make this the best defensive Stratagem.
The Ballistic Shield Backpack InHelldivers 2Needs A Buff
A player on the r/Helldivers2 subreddit has suggested that Arrowhead Game Studios could buff the SH-20 Ballistic Shield Backpack by making it like a “turtle shell” when stored. When stored, the Ballistic Shield contracts to make it easier for the player to move around but when it is equipped it expands, giving players protection from all sorts of attacks. To make this Stratagem better, Arrowhead must keep the shield expanded even when it is stored.
The expanded shield on Helldivers’ back will make it like a “turtle shell,” giving them protection from the back as well. The shield still protects the back but not completely. This buff will allow players to safely run away from hordes of enemies and their constant attacks.

Currently, the shield is not very strong against bugs but this change will also take care of melee attacks from Terminids.
Players Have Been Sharing Many Stratagem Ideas
Arrowhead Game Studios has managed to revive the game’s hype, however, players still want some fresh content. To make things easier for the studios, players have suggested many unique stratagems that should certainly be a part of the game. For example, a player recently suggested that Arrowhead must adda Guard Dog variant that comes with a flamethrower. TheHelldivers 2community loved the idea and even came up with a unique name: Hot Dog.

Another player suggested that Arrowhead should add an Orbital Gas Barrage, a much stronger variation of the Orbital Gas Strike. Apart from Stratagems, players are also eagerly waiting for a new enemy faction. For many months, there have been speculations that the Illuminate faction from the firstHelldiversgame will be making a comeback. Some interesting content was found in thegame’s filesthat prove that Arrowhead is working on the idea but it is unclear when this faction will begin its invasion.
