Helldivers 2was a pleasant surprise from Arrowhead Game Studios that even Sony didn’t expect to take off the way it did. The company offered the game developer a rare opportunity that Microsoft could have never offered given the way it treated newly acquired studios.

Game development takes time and Sony understood the risks and gambled willingly on the project despite hitting multiple delays. The publisher remained patient and believed in the potential and it ultimately paid off and then some, making the game a massive success.
PlayStation Was a Godsend for Helldivers 2
Sony is among the heavy players in the game industry and knows how to treat its partners. It rarely faces issues like the recent controversy oflinking Steam to the PSNaccountswhich became a massive thorn in the Arrowhead’s back. Despite this, the project would have never flown if the developers partnered with Microsoft.
New information has surfaced from Johan Pilestedt and Sony’s patience with the developers is a prime example of how patience can be rewarded. The publisher’s organizational structure influenced Pilestedt and he admitted it benefitted the studio as it was growing.

Helldivers 2’s Worst Stratagem Needs to be Made into a Drone Station to Actually be Useful
Developing a live service game is far more daunting than a regular game. It seems like Arrowhead Game Studios dodged a massive bullet because if Microsoft partnered with them instead and failed to see any progress for that long, the project would never see the light of day.
Helldivers 2 Is Sony’s Reward for Its Patience
Despite what the publisher has put them through, Microsoft supporters were wonderingif a thirdHelldiversgame could work on Xboxwhich is unlikely since Sony owns the IP. It is better this way since Microsoft lacks empathy for any developer that couldn’t meet its standards. The professionalism and competence of Sony influenced Pilestedt and instilled the same principles within Arrowhead.

Sony too operates within the game industry which can be a cut-throat business but it isn’t afraid to make any hard decisions. Johan Pilestedt and his team took their sweet time and carefully applied what he learned from their partners and the result was more than worth it and universally praised by the gaming community.
Director Johan Pilestedt and his team are doing their hardest to keep the game afloat and evenreached out to the players for suggestionson how to improve the game. The union and collaboration between developers and players is a rare sight to behold.

Under different circumstances, the gaming community would have never gotten its hands on the game if the developers teamed up with Microsoft which is a cold fact. Sony isn’t perfect but it never doubted what game developers are capable of.
