Helldivers 2is still going strong and the community is ever-growing, and it is all for the sake of democracy. However, many players have gotten tired of blasting the same aliens but those days might be numbered after Johan Pilestedt teased more enemy variety down the line.

Johan Pilestedt acknowledges that Helldivers 2 could do better on certain departments like enemy types.

It can get tiring and rather boring if a player could mow and disintegrate the same enemy over and over again and it could cause them to lose interest. Every live-service game runs into the same issue but there is an easy fix to the problem by adding something new to destroy.

Johan Pilestedt Is Aware That Helldivers 2 Lacks Enemy Variety

Pilestedt has done some form of public relations training in the past, handling online discussions way better than his teamat Arrowhead Studios. This is evidenced by his calm composure and his kind nature toward members of the gaming community regarding his game. One user on X expressed his profound joy in playing the game but also touched upon several aspects where it could improve and the game director is in agreement and mentioned that enemy variety is chief among them.

I agree that there’s stuff that we can do to improve variety at top tiers. One such is more enemy variety that requires different tools.

This is a good indication of Pilestedt’s overall plan and vision for the game to last at least a few years by changing a few things once in a while to keep players engaged. Also, a good way to design enemies to react a certain way is by using existing weapons that members of the community consider to be weak and useless.

The developers recentlynerfed several primary firearmsand the fan-favorite rail gun is now weaker than it was before. Arrowhead Studios came to a decision that would ultimately benefit the core gameplay by utilizing other tools at a player’s disposal like stratagems and to encourage socialization and teamwork.

Helldivers 2 Could Get Harder With New Enemy Types on the Horizon

Perhaps there is a narrative way to introduce new enemy types as part of Pilestedt’s recent announcement that this game was justthe start of an expanding universe. There are a few creative options that the development team can choose from and incorporate the idea that would fit well in gameplay.

Among the many struggles of keeping the player count in check is to make sure that the game runs as intended but what truly matters is what the players interact within the game. If Pilestedt can come up with far more difficult enemy types to throw at players, the online community is more than ready to take the challenge.

The players are now evengoading the all-seeing and omnipotent game masterto increase the difficulty. It could be an unwise move knowing that the team behind the game is actually and actively working on something new and could make them wish to retract the previous challenge.

Arrowhead Game Studios and Johan Pilestedt plan on improving Helldivers 2.

There is a high likelihood that Joel will retaliate and make use of brute force towards the gaming community to regret their wishes for a more challenging game. Nevertheless, Johan Pilestedt is committed to making sure thatHelldivers 2is the best game possible.
