AHelldivers 2player recently explained the correct way to take down the Dropship using the GR-8 Recoilless Rifle. On lower difficulty levels, the Dropship isn’t a big threat. However, on higher difficulty levels, this flying Automaton vehicle carries some strong Automaton units that are very difficult to deal with, so players should immediately take it down when it is spotted.
Hitting Certain Sections Of The Automaton Dropship With A Recoilless Rifle Will Instantly Destroy It
AHelldivers 2player has shared a post on the r/Heldivers subreddit explaining the best method to take down Automaton Gunship. The Gunship can be mainly divided into four parts, and hitting two specific sections will instantly destroy it using the GR-8 Recoilless Rifle.
If players strike the head of the Gunship, it will instantly destroy it, killing all the Automatons on board. The same is observed when players strike the middle of the flying vehicle. If players strike on the engines, some of the Automatons will be killed. One thing that is to be noted is that attacking the gunship standing right beneath it will not work in some cases as the Automatons on board will take all the damage instead of the Gunship.
