While Helldivers 2 has been a massive success for Arrowhead Game Studios, the studio is starting to build towards their next project. However, don’t expect that to mean the developers are abandoning their live-service hit.
In case anyone’s getting ideas, Arrowhead’s main focus is still Helldivers 2, the studio’s CEO claims.

Helldivers 2 Devs Thanks Playerbase For Game’s Success Paving The Way For “Game 6”
Speaking to players on the official Arrowhead Game Studios Discord channel, studio CEO Shams Jorjani talked about the studio’s plans for the future.
Jorjani states (viaVG247), “the wonderful thing is that thanks to the amazing support of you FINE people Arrowhead’s future is quite bright and we have the freedom to explore some really cool concepts that we couldn’t have otherwise. Game 6 (our next project) will happen the way it will happen thanks to you.”
As one might expect, some took that as confirmation that Arrowhead is moving on from Helldivers 2, with one Discord member stating that it sounds like Arrowhead is already abandoning “a good chunk of dev time and money from Helldivers 2.”
Jorjani quickly squashed that idea, stating, “Nah. It’s ALL Helldivers 2 for now. A very, very small team will spin up something later this year and go at it slowly. Helldivers is our main focus and will be for a loooong time.”

As for Helldivers 2’s future, there’s no end in sight, which should alleviate fears of the current playerbase. It’s mostly with the fans' support that they’re able to do this. Jorjani explains, “As long as you folks keep playing and buying super credits we can keep it going,” he wrote, “Last summer we were kinda screwing the pooch so it looked like we wouldn’t be able to keep the train going for a long time - but we turned the ship around, you support us a lot so it’s looking bright.”
Speaking of support, Arrowhead recently released a major update for Helldivers 2 thatallowed players to customize weapons and a whole lot more.
