Bryan Cranston is best known for his performance as Walter White in the crime-drama seriesBreaking Bad. Before he rose to fame with his mainstream television roles, Cranston had brief voice roles in the globally popularPower Rangersfranchise. He even returned in a major supporting role for the 2017 film reboot of the series.

However, when discussing his work with the franchise, Cranston seemed to have made a homophobic remark which did not sit well with one of the originalPower Rangersactors. As a result, the actor blasted Cranston for the distasteful comments. Here is what the actor had to say about Cranston’s remark and how the latter responded.

During an interview withIGN, Cranston revealed that he had been working with the parent company ofPower Rangersfor quite a while. As a result, they named the original Blue Power Ranger from the series, Billy Cranston, after him. However, Cranston added:

Cranston’s supposed homophobic remark did not sit well with actor David Yost whoplayed the Blue Ranger and later came out as gay. Yost blasted Cranston for comments during an interview withNBC News.
In his mind, he probably thinks he was being funny, but that’s the kind of thing that’s not funny, and that’s the kind of thing I would hear while I was working on set.

Yost made the above statement, making his displeasure with Cranston’s comments well-known and highlighting the actor as part of the problem.

Cranston laterrespondedto Yost’s comments and apologized publicly for the insensitivity of his remark that had offended the former Blue Ranger actor. However, Cranston also admitted to not remembering making the offensive comment in the first place.

Cranston wasn’t the onlyBreaking Badstar who has been accused of making homophobic comments. In the series, actor-comedian Lavell Crawford played the recurring role of Huell Babineaux. He later reprised the role for the spin-off seriesBetter Call Saul.
During an interview with theDJ VladYouTube channel, Crawford spoke out against homosexuality and opened up about his father being gay, leaving their family for another man. However, Crawford also made some offensive remarks against the LGBTQ+ community.

No matter how much they’re getting accepted, it’s still f***ing weird.
Crawford made the above statement regarding the community’s demands and growing influence on society.
