Gotham Knightsis here, and it brings the thunder when it comes to boss fights. Whether you’re playingRed Hood,Batgirl,Robin, orNightwing, you’re probably going to have a tough time with Mr. Freeze. This version of Freeze is fierce, and don’t let the oversized suit fool you, he can be quicker than he looks. His weather machine is also deadly, so you can’t always rely on it for cover. Whoever you decide to bring into the fight, be ready to run and dodge if you want to stay on your feet. While it’s one of the earliest boss fights in the game, it’s also one of the toughest.

The first big piece of advice for this fight is to approach it over-leveled. The mission is going to say that you can handle it around level 13, but that’s just not the case. Progress the rest of the story. Take on other side activities. Put off your fight with Freeze until you’re better leveled, have more skills, and can equip better gear. It can be a long fight where defeat and starting over can feel rather punishing.

Equipping yourself for this fight is simple, but essential. You’ll want to equip your Knight with anything that protects against cold damage. That’s going to help you stay alive, because Freeze has some attacks that are almost too difficult to avoid. Once you’ve boosted your defense, you want to make sure your offensive equipment is dealing fire damage, which is Freeze’s weakness. Being geared the correct way is going to really make a difference in this fight.

Attack From Range

While it might be tempting to move in on Freeze and get off some momentum abilities, your best bet is to attack him from range. If you get close, he has some punishing melee abilities at his disposal that he’ll use before quickly putting some distance between the two of you again. If you want to engage in melee, you’ll be chasing Freeze around the arena.

Stay On The Move

Part of the reason you’ll want to attack from range is that you’ll also be doing a lot of running during this fight. Mr. Freeze shoots a beam out of his cannon that can be devastating. He also shoots rockets into the air. You’ll see some red icons and flashing on the ground indicating where the rockets are going to hit. You want to avoid getting caught up in the rockets or shot by his cannon. As if that wasn’t enough, his weather machine will also shoot off deadly beams that are difficult to avoid. If you stop moving, Mr. Freeze will swiftly deliver some punishment, and getting knocked out means starting things all over again.

Co-Op Helps

This isn’t mandatory, but it certainly is helpful. While much of this game feels right at home as a solo experience, some areas and fights just feel tuned for multiplayer. This is one of those fights where having another person around can be invaluable. If you have a friend with Gotham Knights, don’t hesitate to seek a little help with this one. If you don’t have a friend playing the game, consider just entering matchmaking and seeing if someone will come along to lend a hand.
