Your first Favor inGod of War Ragnarok, In Service of Asgard, is a somewhatinvolved side questduring which you are tasked with shutting down three mining rigs operating across theBay of Bountyin Svartalfheim.

Mimirhas a personal stake in this mission; apparently he is the reason these rigs exist in the first place, since he was instrumental in convincing the dwarves to work with Odin. These mining rigs each involve somepuzzle solving and brutal combat, with some puzzles being real head-scratchers. This guide’s got you covered.
How To Start The Side Quest
As you navigate throughNidavellir, you will eventually encounterRaeb, the dwarven proprietor of a tavern. He directs you toward Durlin, your main purpose for visiting Svartalfheim in the first place, but then he also starts you on theIn Service To AsgardFavor.
Shut Down Radsvinn’s Rig
To reach Radsvinn’s Rig, head straight north from theboat dock: Nidavellir West. You’ll find a stretch of sand for breaching your boat. On the left, you’ll spotthe Watchtower. Black smoke billows over the hills to the right. That smoke is coming from Radsvinn’s Rig.
Beach the boat and follow the path north until you reach theMystic Gateway. From here,turn rightand continue up this way. Grapple up to the ledge when you reach it, grapple up the next, and prepare for a fight.
Once the enemyGrimhave been dispatched, head to thefurnace. Using your Blades of Chaos,carve open the grate, then with your Leviathan Axe, throw it into the fires to put them out.
Remember toclaim your loot! Every time to destroy the furnace on one of these mining rigs, they’ll spit out several useful crafting materials. This furnace provides: +1 Forged Iron, 500 Hacksilver, and a piece ofNidavellir Ore, a rare crafting substance used to craftNidavellir’s Finestarmor pieces.
Before leaving, you might also consider tackling theNornir Chest on Radsvinn’s Rig– though somerunic brazierscan be a bitdifficult to find.

Shut Down Modvitnir’s Rig
To reach this rig, hop back on your boat andhead westwardtoward the plume of smoke.Follow your handy compassfor easy navigation.
After landing on the beach for Modvitnir’s Rig, climb up a level and kill the smallswarm of Wretches. Once they’ve been dispatched, grapple up to the next level. You’ll spotone of those pesky Ormrlurking beyond the wooden planks to your left, but that’s not why you’re here.
Instead, throw your Leviathan Axe at therotating mechanismto the right. Doing so will lower to gate ahead, clearing your path. Climb up the wooden structure until you reach the platform. You’ll be swarmed again by someWild Wretches. Dispatch them and loot the chest ahead. You’ve earned it. Inside, you’ll find one part of aMuspelheim Seed. Finding the other will grant you access to that fiery realm.
From here, use yourBlades of Chaosto grapple to the other side. Unfortunately, the walkway collapsed, and you’re unable to leap the distance to continue toward the rig.
You can solve this by using your Leviathan Axe torotate the giant cranetwo times, swinging the grapple point around to be used on this larger gap.
Once you cross this gap, be ready for anotherWretch swarm. After defeating them, your path is clear to climb the final chain to the rig itself. You can use the giant crane to grab a glowing red chest here as well, but your priority is shutting down this rig.
At the top of the platform, you’ll come across aBergsra Mother. This creature had the ability tospawn Wretches, and it will do so multiple times in this encounter. This is why you’ve encountered so many Wretches on your approach.
Once the Bergsra Mother and its Wretch spawn have been defeated, you’re free toslice open the furnaceand shut down this rig for good.
Don’t forget tocollect the loot!You’ll come away with +2 Slag Deposit, +500 Hacksilver, andNidavellir Ore. This special ore will allow Brok or Sindri to forge you another piece of theNidavellir’s Finest armor set.

Shut Down Althjof’s Rig
To reach the final rig, hop in a boat andhead northtoward the next plume of smoke in the section of the baynorth of the Watchtowerlocation. You can’t miss it.
This rig is much more of achallenging puzzlethan the previous two, involving quite a few more steps.
After docking, climb the chain to the next level up. Ahead, you’ll find awheel mechanism. Before using it, move past it and face the elevator. Follow the prompts to pull the elevator down with the Blades of Chaos, making it a platform for you to cross on top of. Now, return to the wheel and lower its mechanism so that thegrapple point lines up with the elevator.
Once you leap to the far side, you’ll find ared explosive bageland a red wooden barrier. Using your Blades of Chaos, attack the barrel to clear the entrance.
Continue through the courtyard of enemy statues and grapple up above the red Barrier across the way.
From here,knock down the metal plate, allowing you the ability to grapple back up to this level from the wheel mechanism level.
For now, remain on this upper level andfollow the path aroundthe corner to a door. Open the door and continue around the bend. You should spot ared explosive barrelbelow. Leap down and ignite it,destroying the red barriers. This will now allow free movement on this level.
From this junction, turn left and begin theclimb up the wooden pillar. Follow this climbing path around until you reach a platform overlooking the landing below. Use the prompt to shatter through the floor – butprepare for combat.
From down here, use your Blades of Chaos toswing the elevator back upwards.
you may use the wheel mechanism to bring the grapple point lower, allowing you to reach a glowing red chest across the way. Otherwise, use the wheel mechanism to bring thegrapple point to its penultimate height.
Return to thetop level, just above the wheel mechanism, and leap across to theelevator roof, then grapple the rest of the way across the gap to the far side.
From here, the path is clear. Climb up the remaining handholds to reach the mining rig proper – butprepare for another fight.
After the battle is complete,slice open the mining rig’s furnacegrate and put out the fires with your Leviathan Axe.
Once again,don’t forget to collect the crafting materialsthat were thrown from the broken furnace. You will receive +2 Rawhide, +500 Hacksilver, andNidavellir Ore.With this final rig, you have enough Nidavellir Ore to craft theNidavellir’s Finestarmor set.
And that completes In Service Of Asguard! You’ll be treated to somexp rewardsand some final thought about Odin, the dwarves, and Mimir’s role in establishing these rigs in the first place.
