One of the major aspects thatCall of Duty: MW3relied on during its marketing phase was that the weapons, skins, and operators that players had bought inMW2would be available to access in the new game. And with the latest leak, Activision seems to be continuing the trend for the upcomingCoD 2024.

The upcoming Call of Duty 2024 is already garnering criticism, thanks to rumors about the Carry Forward feature.

However, the rumors, if true, feel like a halfway measure by the publisher, and naturally, not many players are too fond of a suggested element of the reported feature.

Only “some”MW3operators will apparently be carried forward intoCall of Duty 2024.

Reportedly, Not All Modern Warfare 3 Operators Will Be Available in Call of Duty 2024

The rumor aboutCall of Duty 2024wassharedon X by DETONATED, a page dedicated to covering all thingsCoD. It was revealed that “some” of theModern Warfare 3operators will “Carry Forward” to the next game in the franchise, seemingly being developed by Treyarch.

Although the page itself was in favor of this only “if it was non-canon/crossover operators only, no campaign characters,” it was the rest of the community that was mostly on the same page against a suggested aspect of the feature.

One such frustrated playerstatedthat they do not care about the untold criteria that the developer or publisher use to choose which operators get carried forward, saying, “give me my skins I paid for” in the previous game and make them available in the next.

Which makes sense because if Activision is going to keep the Carry Forward feature, it should be applied to every skin or operator that a player bought in the previous game, because otherwise, it will be subject to further criticism if the publisher picks and chooses what content makes it to the next one.

The followed criteria will have to be explained quite clearly by the studio if some players get their purchasedModern Warfare 3skins inCall of Duty2024and others do not, causing an eventual rift within the community.

Players spend actual real-life money on some of the operators, so it is only right that they are usable in the next Call of Duty as well.

But for now, some players are satisfied with just knowing that at least not all skins will be taken away in the upcoming game.

At Least Some MW3 Skins Will Be Returning in Call of Duty 2024

Aside from that specific aspect of the reported Carry Forward feature, many players agreed that they are “for it cause spending money on operators just to be able to use it for one year is lame.” It is now up to Activision to figure out a way to turn the feature into more of a full-measure if it wants to avoid further backlash from the community.
